forgive me but i”m a bit salty, this is just my personal opinion but out of all of tanaka-sensei’s work, yarichin bitch bu is the least well developed in terms of plot and character development. comparing the cheap yandere plot twist in bitch-bu to the drawn out long lasting emotional trauma of kan-chan in hadakeru is like comparing a marble to a diamond. 

i do get that yarichin is extremely popular due to it being 1) free to read on pixiv and 2) a high school setting which make it easier to market but so much of that is just straight up porn, how are they gonna “casually” gloss over the 3some scenes or every other random fucking scene that pops up lol.

I just watched this movie after being recommended it by my Japanese professor, since the topic we’re studying is Japanese education. The story revolves around a high school girl, Sayaka, who after being bullied throughout elementary school finally finds friends in middle school. These friends change her life in more ways than one - for one, she finally finds joy in attending school and becomes more sociable and happy, but also ends up neglecting her studies entirely to the point where she has the aptitude of a 4th grader in 11th grade.

Currently in Japan there is a very strong culture of academic prestige, in that attending a good university will secure you a good job, and hence happiness in life. Sayaka’s mother enrols her into cram school, where she falls into the goal of attending Keio University (one of the most prestigious and difficult to enter universities in Japan). Her teachers and father, however, think she is useless and will never attain such a far-off dream. Determined to prove them wrong, Sayaka starts changing her life step by step to work toward her new dream.

This movie is an absolute bucket of emotions. I cried probably around 8 times at Sayaka’s success, failures, and also the relationships she has with her friends and family. When one person has a dream, it affects also so many people around them, too, and watching this movie really makes me feel motivated to study hard, and also to be grateful for the opportunities I often take for granted.

by censorship do you mean the censorship of the sex scenes? (its what im going to guess)

oh god i’m not ready for this to be over..i’ll start with the summary and give my thoughts at the end! >>>

we begin the chapter with naoto and taichi meeting up on campus. naoto arrives late and apologises, but taichi’s okay with it. in the background there are several students pointing at them and whispering things like “hey, aren’t those the guys from the school festival...” (aka gossip about them being gay). naoto looks uncomfortable but taichi tells him it’s okay with a gentle touch of the arm.

next their friends appear (yuu-pon is angry because naoto and taichi left him on read lmao), while mikarin asks how their hangover is. they have some sick bantz before yuu-pon tells them they have to start playing a graduation trip. then they go to eat lunch together (and naoto has no money and taichi has to pay for him, a pattern that seems to happen 2/3 of the time)

when they’re heading back taichi forgot some class work so naoto waits while he goes to deal with it. and of course who else is waiting around the corner except nishina lmao

he says, “im glad, you two were able to make up.” naoto screams out in surprise and nishina tells him to shut up cus he’s loud, and that it’s been a while since they’ve seen each other. nishina then tells naoto that he’ll have all sorts of hardships [in his relationship] in the future.. but he’ll probably be ok and he’s being annoying. naoto’s like “no way, i’m not annoyed at all but with a face that is *definitely* annoyed lmao. nishinas like “ah im the type who definitely cant give blessings for other peoples happiness huh” and naoto tells him he’s the worst (サイテ〜). 

also, nishina quit his job at the restaurant because he’s bad at dealing with customers, and naotos like “even now?” wwww he laughs about it and nishina tells him to stop showing him that kind of smile because if he does it’ll make it hard for him to give up... babby PLEASE;; before they part nishina gives naoto his sketchbook saying he can look at it later. naoto tells nishina to come drinking with him and taichi some time, and at first nishina’s like “no way~” but eventually gives in with a promise of next time.

(the expression nishina gives after he leaves makes me want to die btw, i really really hope tanaka-sensei writes a story with him in the future;;)

taichi comes back and notices the sketchbook naotos holding, and naoto tells him he met nishina and that they should look at it together when they get home... except that when they get home naoto starts sucking taichis dick so i’d say they’re a little distracted lmao. naoto’s also a such a tease about it too, saying “this is the genkan, so don’t let out your voice too loudly <3″ sdjkgdshfsa

also like?? the porn scenes are SO FUCKING GOOD sensei honestly outdid herself and i say this every damn time. but god it seems she wanted the finale to stand out cus holy shit im gonna think about those pages for a few months at least. taichi fingering and blowing naoto at the same time to the point where naoto cant even think except beg taichi to put his dick in has me weak guys, please send help. (sorry for being a tease but im only gonna put this pic LOL)

taichi tells naoto to ride him and im gonna guess they don’t do this often, because naoto worries about being heavy/getting tired and taichi says something along the lines of “as i thought its better from the front, i’ll move so [lay down]”... but then naoto clings to him and tells him to not let go, to which taichi pulls him close and says he’ll never let him go T__T IM CRYING WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME

anyway back to the plot---

they finally go through the sketchbook and nishinas drawings are amazing (as in theyre just copy pastes of previous panels LOL nishina your art looks just like tanaka-senseis~!). taichi comments on how all the pictures are of naoto and naotos says “well i am pretty good looking after all~” 

naoto brings up nishina’s words from before about how they’ll be fine together, and taichi says he’ll absolutely make happiness with naoto, even if other people talk bad. naoto says that whatever happens is fine as long as he’s with taichi. 

then naoto decides he wants ice cream and makes taichi ride the bike to the conbini to get some. its been a while since they’ve been out together on a bike, and it’s already almost new year. taichi invites naoto to come over to his dad’s house for new year and they’ll get some good quality meat, to which naoto is really excited. then, out of nowhere, taichi remembers about how when they were in high school they travelled out to the beach together by bicycle... and suggests that they do that now.

naoto is so shocked, “what, now? it’s so far!” but taichi says its fine, they can take the bus back. naoto’s like “wait wait---!” before the next page is a 2 page spread of when they were dating in high school, taichi taking the two of them to the ocean by bike all those years ago... 

and naoto says, “i suppose we can go.”

now, my thoughts? im so depressed because it’s over. i read a lot of BL, but ive never been so attached to a story and its characters the way i am with this one. im so conflicted because i am happy beyond words that they’ve found their happiness, but also distraught because them finding their happiness means the end of their story. im so grateful to tanaka-sensei for writing this story because her characters feel real in the sense that they have such obvious flaws, and especially the conflict with their troubles in coming out to people close to them struck really close to home in a way i can relate to personally. 

with both escape journey and hadakeru kaibutsu coming to and end, im hoping sensei takes a long break. however i’ll still be eagerly awaiting whatever her next voyage is, especially if it’s gonna be a nishina spinoff series..! 

in the meantime please support tanaka-sensei’s works! two volumes of EJ are available in japanese right now with the third to come out within the next few months im guessing, and even better the first two are being released in english by sublime towards the end of this year! also check out her other stories if you haven’t already, the hadakeru kaibutsu series and it’s prequels are also favourites on my shelf, ive made every single one of my friends read it lmao. if you can write in japanese, i suggest sending her a message at her twitter @/ tanaca_ with your gratefulness towards her work! completely late but hey delayed digital release and exams do that to a person T__T as usual, spoilers beware! ANYWAY, ONWARDS!!!

the ch starts with naoto sulking in his room while his siblings are banging on the door, trying to coax him out. taichi calls him on the phone and naoto asks him how his meeting with his mother went. taichi tells naoto he’s not going to meet her anymore, and naotos asking why when his siblings start being noisy again. taichi asks what’s up, and naoto tells him that he accidentally came out to them. taichi gets really worried, and tells naoto he’s coming over - after all, he’s kind of involved in this, too.

taichi rushes over, and naotos family are all scoping him out (his sister thinks hes super hot, lol). taichi’s on his best behaviour, speaking in keigo and trying his best too look responsible... and sits down at the table to have a chat with naoto and his parents.

theres a long convo that i cant be bothered translating but the gist is this: naoto tells his parents that he wants to get youshiengumi (japanese adult adoption, also pseudo-marriage) with taichi. however, naotos mother is against it because she believes they aren’t ready. she thinks that truthfully they are still afraid of society and that if they dont learn to not care about the thoughts of others, a marriage won’t change anything. then taichi makes the most adorable, doki-doki speech ever, saying that he’s never known happiness greater than when he’s together with naoto. naoto makes this beautiful face when he hears it:

naoto’s mother is still against it, but at the end she says that in the end she will let them do what they please. she also wants naoto to know that no matter what, she will always be his mother and that she loves him (i literally teared up reading this, why cant this be my parents www). naotos dad also says that he’ll be like a son to him, and then asks if taichi drinks, because they should drink together.

taichi says, ‘yes, i drink’ - but actually, he’s crying! everyones shocked - especially naoto ----

“t-t-t-t-t-t-taichi?!?!” and then all of naotos nosy siblings bust into the room. his sister says ‘wow, he’s even hot when he’s crying’ www but its an overall happy ending in the hisami household.

naoto is walking taichi back to the station, but out of nowhere a mysterious figure runs after them, yelling their names. startled they turn and find it to be... mika-rin....?!

i.. i am too overwhelmed to write a summary of it and tbh i kind of dont want to because its just so amazing i want everyone to experience it for the first time themselves and not get spoiled.. the previous 2 chapters were good but this is. this is something else. wow.
