Just read an article online where an author suggested books come with trigger warnings. Of course the coment section is filled with people thinking this is a ridiculous idea and people just need to suck it up and move on. 🤦♀️ There was a group of people who believe exposure to certain topics will help people get over their trauma. 🤔🤦♀️
Meanwhile over on AO3 authors give as many trigger warnings as they can think of and even offer to chat with someone privately if they have any concerns about what the fic will contain. It's a community full of supportive people that give readers a choice about what content they read. It's really not that hard to be empathetic people. ❤️
