I love Horizon so much and I've been waiting for a long time to draw Nil ššš
Commander Shepard was born April 11th, 2154. Happy birthday, Commander šš
The thing is, in order to have a healthy and robust fandom, a piece of media NEEDS to leave some questions unanswered. Some relations unshipped. Some plot holes unfilled. Some backstories unwritten. Some lore unexplained. You need possibilities that will keep people up at night. The beautiful thing about an empty lot in a neighborhood is what people make in it
I made this My Time at Sandrock comic based on that sound from Family Guy. If you donāt know it, just look up āno kissing the mailmanā.
I said it already in a previous post, but this game SLAPS. Itās seriously so good, if you have the chance to play it definitely do!
Then you too, like Roxy, can kiss the bandit outlaw as many times as your heart desires šš¤

Itās really that simple.
Withhold time/resources from organizations building an anti-human future
If no one bothered enough to make it , then why tf should we bother to watch it?

i think a lot of people need to learn the crucial skill of "not ragebaiting themselves with shit they know they wont like"
AO3 Spam Bot Update
Date Posted: February 8, 2026
A wave of spambot guest comments claiming to be AO3 volunteers has recently been made across the site. They claim that there has been a data breach and that fraudulent password reset emails have been sent out. In addition, the harassment spambots are now accusing users of being sex offenders.
These claims are not true. These comments are not being made by real AO3 volunteers or users, and AO3 has not experienced a data breach.
These comments copy existing AO3 usernames in order to make their accusations seem more legitimate. They may also try to lure people onto other platforms, similar to the art commission scam.
AO3 volunteers will never communicate with you through guest comments on your work. All important communications from AO3 about your account will be sent via email. More general announcements will be posted on our official social media accounts or published as news posts on AO3 or OTW.org.
If you want to make sure you're doing everything possible to protect yourself and your accounts, our Policy & Abuse volunteers published a news post earlier this year with advice about internet safety best practices: Protect Your AO3 Account.
As always, we recommend that you do not click on any suspicious links or give your contact information to scammers. Instead, simply mark the comments as spam or report them so that Policy & Abuse can remove other comments left by these spambots.
If you aren't sure how to mark guest comments as spam, learn how to handle them below the cut!
okay I am begging people to understand that it is not "planned obsolescence" or "corporate greed" for manufacturers to stop selling things because genuinely better technologies become available. I just had someone arguing with me that they should be able to buy a new nickel-cadmium battery for their 25-year-old cordless vacuum. NiCd batteries were outlawed a decade ago for very good reasons. if you really want to have the same effect as using one you can just go out and shoot 10 people with Bullets That Give You Cancer and then rip out your own kidney
Dreaming up an Obsolecence scale between 'we intentionally want to make our customers buy new things bc profit' to 'yeah so we don't do that any more because that would be intentionally giving kids cancer'
Planned Obsolecence: This thing could last ten years or more but then no one would buy a new product from us for ten years, which will eat into our profits. Luckily we can make our product incrementally worse to force people to buy new ones before that ten years is up.
Scheduled Obsolecence: As less and less people use this old method, it becomes more prohibitively expensive to keep supporting those few people, and resources are better spent on trying to help them transition to the newer, cheaper technology - as a result we will completely stop supporting the old method in a few years.
Regular Obsolecence: No one beside a few weirdo hobbiest would use the old method because we've just developed affordable, more effective technology to achieve the same thing. There's a reason no one sends a telegram any more.
What the Fuck Obsolecence: Yeah so no we don't do the Coca Cola with cocaine in it any more for the same reason we stopped treating headaches with leeches and arsenic.

Minneapolis comic bookstore owner Greg Ketter.
He owns Dreamhaven Books and Comics in Minneapolis and has done since the late 70s. Well worth the visit if you're local.
Their website is currently down from the sheer amount of traffic hitting it and Greg has said after they catch up with the online orders he's going to rest up for a bit before they get things back online, but for anyone outside of Twin Cities who wants to have a browse, their ABE books and Ebay where they post rare/collector items are still up.
https://www.abebooks.com/DreamHaven-Books-Minneapolis-MN-U.S.A/452261/sf

Can't find the video at the moment, but this elderly badass was standing in tear gas yelling FUCK YOU, STOP, I'M 70 YEARS OLD AND I'M FUCKIN' PISSED!!! at ICE goons after Alex Pretti's killing.
I imagine, as noted, his website is completely slammed, but I will keep checking back to see if I can get an online order at some point.
Here's the CBS news/WCCO video on Bluesky.
There are people in the notes worried about Gregās safety and that his identity was outed against his will.
Greg has willingly given interviews and been loudly active in the local community. He is one of many people making the choice to do so to expose the levels of cruelty and inhumanity taking place, this is not the same as taking pictures of non-consenting protestorsābut thank you for being worried about him.
Please know Greg and other booksellers in the area who have becomes hubs of local activity and resistance are being looked after by the community. They are making themselves visible so people have rallying points.
Also, did you know if you shop through Bookshop.org you can choose which independent book seller to buy from, directly increasing their visibility and sales? And that bookshop.org gives a large portion of their profit to supporting independent book sellers across the country?
Now you do!
i hate when people are like āoh you ship these two contrasting ships? but-ā sorry i forgot about the ship rationing. trade in your ration card for some fanart. sorry i dared think that this person is compatible with 2 separate people. almost like theyāreā¦fictional?
I finished the last constellation tonight. All 40 of them are now done! Went through and double checked and every stitch is in place for them and all the beads are in place. Which just leaves the milky way part to do.
Started stitching the Milky Way in. Slowly making progress on it as I am hiding the travelling thread so the back will look nice.
Looks pretty cool and keeps the readability of the other stitches. Very happy with it. Just a thousand or so to do. As they are in a grid roughly every centimetre apart.
Update on the constellation quilt. I have gotten the last Milky Way stitch done now. Which means the quilting part of this project is done. My next step will be to baste the edges down, remove the pattern, trim the quilt square, and lastly attach the binding.
Progress on the constellation quilt has come along quite a lot now. Finished the binding on the quilt over the weekend. I prefer to machine stitch the binding to the front then hand stitch the back side. It gives such a nice finish to the quilt. Took the time to measure it also and it ended up being 72" by 72" (183cm by 183cm).
With that done I could finally start removing the pattern. Which is taking both less time and more time that I thought it would. As it rips really easily so that goes fast, but the tiny corners and removing it under the beads is slow. You can now see the difference in the glow effect with it against the dark front of the quilt instead of the pattern.
Behold the stars of the constellations of the northern sky! I love how this quilt has turned out. It was a lot of fun to work on and the effect is so cool in person. Overall I would estimate it took about 90-100 hours to complete. Give or take 10 hours if you want to count the time I spent custom dying the fabric.
I made sure to get a nice photo of it in daylight. For once I also remembered to get a quilt label on it. The back really shows the difference in readability of the quilting on the ice dyed fabric compared to the solid front. Thank you everyone that has followed this. I am glad you all found joy in it.
Those that are interested, here is the pattern I used by Haptic Lab. I made the large northern hemisphere version, and plan to make the matching southern hemisphere one next year. I also got your back for the less crafty people. Haptic Lab sells finished quilts in this pattern, both as a large quilt and a small one.

I painted it.
But I guess the rough draft was better...š„²

yes, Iād love for my ship to be canon too, but I feel like fandom culture today focuses too much on āmy ship must be canon or else I will be a bitch and harass people about itā energy that weāve lost the main point of shipping two fictional characters together, why we do it in the first place, which is that itās fun. it brings us comfort and joy. and even if the ship isnāt canon, we have fan contents, so many amazing fan art and fanfics. you can create whatever you want about them. make them kiss. make them yearn for each other. make them confess their love under the rain.
ābut itās not canonā THEY ARE ALREADY FICTION. canon or not. they are a fragment of imagination forged by their canon creators, meaning YOU can create your own art about them too.
canon = art made by canon creators, they created it, itās out there, it exists, itās valid.
fan contents = art made by you, you created it, itās out there, it exists, itās just as valid.
Not people saying āFandom has always been like thisā in that vent post I made. No. It hasnāt always been like this. Fandom has NEVER been like this until recently and if you were in fandom pre-tumblr purge, pre-twitter, pre-netflix boom, pre-tiktokā¦.then you would fucking know it was nothing like this.
We still had the drive to create. We still sold prints and charms and made zinesā¦but it was never like this.
The introduction of streaming, binge shows that drop all at once, tiktok and vine RIP i still love u vine but you were the beginning of a particularly ugly era) creating this bite sized, quick paced ācontentā era of creation and it bled out into fucking everything else.
Fandoms didnāt die down when the show ended or the season was over. You didnāt mass unfollow artist, writers or moots just because they changed fandoms. There wasnāt this need to please the algorithm in order for your posts to get seen by people and enjoyed.
Fandoms used to last YEARS. Star Trek is literally the oldest running fandom out there and you got people in there that could care less about the new stuff and still have been happily prancing through their fucking fifty year old fandom today. Hell, even SPN after all itās fuckups and shitshows has a dedicated fanbase STILL creating tons of art and fic.
There is no patience anymore. No calm feeling of taking in fandom and friends at a pace that which doesnāt make you stressed and is still fun.
Do I blame fandom for this? Of course not, but people are complacent with it and start changing their vocab to accommodate and end up making the situation so deep it cant be fixed.
We call Art & Fic Content now, completely stripping the value of what it is to a level of consumerism instead of personal entertainment & community bonding.
Let OP talk, theyāre absolutely right.
It really is crazy how fast people burn through things now. I saw people saying the Arcane fandom was dead only a few *weeks* after the last episode aired. Imagine being a fic writer working on a big fic for the show and seeing that. Or an artist working on a fan comic. Like, cāmon, people.
