A really sweet lady crochets all kinds of hats and anything else you can think of there. What currently inspires my style definitely comes from Fruits magazine (just a little bit,) the fashion of the rococo era, and very fem/masc styles— I typically like mixing the two for comfortability. Here, I just threw stuff together, so I wasn’t expecting a picture to be taken!”

“I’m wearing a thrifted 80s prom dress, a sweater I crocheted, and star balaclava. I’m using leftover crystal trim from work as a ’bow tie’. The purse, I thrifted almost 10 years ago in SF. Shoes are UGGs that I bedazzled with more leftover crystals from work. And most importantly, under all this is a full body layer of heat tech because it’s cold and windy. Today I was inspired by my desire to be warm and comfy because that was the only way I was leaving the house in this weather.”

“Incorporating the old is a thought I keep in mind with every outfit I wear. Whether that be something I’ve thrifted or something passed down, there’s a certain quality in wearing clothes from a bygone age. This look is inspired by a 1897 Sargent portrait of socialite Edith Minturn Stokes. Elements of early 20th century fashion can be seen, notably the pleated shirt and pillbox hat. This piece is meant to emulate a bird - the black crowned night heron to be exact!”
