Welcome to the idyllic town of Addersfield, located on History Island in Auradon, home of Illedale University.
Students here are children of some rather famous faces. And some have made fame in their own right, like King Ben or the Lady Mal. Weâre proud to boast a diverse student culture and a rich historyâ
[âand thatâs enough of THAT broadcast! Is this thing on? Hello? Can you hear me?
Good. Iâll warn ya right now, everybodyâ if you thought Auradon Prep was wild, you ainât seen nothing yet! Illedale is bigger, meaner, and with the past not so distant to us, tensions can run pretty high around here.
âCourse, you probably know the story by now. When preparing for his coronation, King Ben declared his first royal proclamation to allow over 4 VKs from the Isle of the Lost to come to the city. After a whole showdown about good and evil, the four integrated into Auradon society pretty well, and then after drama at Cotillion, Mowgli rallied the Auradon people to fight for the disbandment of the Isle, sending the villains to rehab and their kids to Auradon Prep.
Catching you up since graduation, pretty much all of us ended up moving to Addersfield for higher education in Auradonâs systemâ cuz man, I gotta tell ya, itâs a lot better in Auradon than it is anywhere else. Well, âcept for all the evil takeovers, I guess.
But not everyoneâs cut out for college itself. The nice thing about Addersfield is that itâs all a pretty tight-knit community based around the school itself. More of a college township, as it were. So some of APâs graduates moved to town to work with a crowd they know well.
I canât stay much longer, but donât let the stuffy advertising fool ya about this place, folks! Weâre a lot more than what the surface wants to pretend. Iâd drop your application while you can if I were in your shoes! This is P. Warner, sending you right back to your regularly scheduled programming!]
âand enroll in your future today at Illedale University, where the story starts anew.

âOh, I... I woke myself up, faced my fears and all.â Sylvia shrugs. âItâs... monumental, but it wasnât like it was a big deal in the moment. Yâknow, it was kinda just... a quiet thing.â
She finds Nancy sitting on top a table in the library.
Sylvia sighs and reaches out a hand to her closest friend, shivering slightly when she slips into her nightmare. Finding herself in the Jones family home. âNance? Nancy.â
Hearing a soft whimper, her head turns and she sighs softly. Nancy had a lofted bed that she hung curtains off of to hide her computer and workspace from the world from. Usually, she kept them pulled back... unless she needed to cry.
Walking over, she pulls back the curtains, seeing Nancy curled up under her desk. âHey. Hey, little one. What is it, what happened?â
Nancy sobs, peaking up from where her head was curled up against her knees and launching over, hugging her. âDad and-- and Mama Daphne said-- said I wasnât any good, that I was letting them down and letting my mom down and-- and-- and--â
Sylvia sighs and gently runs her fingers through Nancyâs hair, shaking her head. âHey, hey, thatâs not true, okay?â
âB-b-but, but--â
âShh, no. No buts, Nancy Kate Jones. Youâre one of the best in the business. People request you by name and for good reason. You know your stuff and you know what youâre doing. You know that, and I know that. And your dad and Daphne know that, too.â
âBut they said, they said--â
âYouâre dreaming, little one,â Sylvia brushes some of her hair back up, wiping her tears gently. âYouâre just having a nightmare. Thereâs another evil takeover in Auradon, whoever started it cast a sleeping curse over everyone thatâs been trapping them in their nightmares. Itâs just a bad dream, and Iâm here to help you wake up.â
Nancy sniffles, lip quivering. âHow?â
âYou just need to face your fears, little one. Youâre just scared your dad and Daphne donât think youâre enough but you know they do, they think youâre more than enough, and theyâre so proud of you, arenât they?â
Nancy sniffles, trembling against her, her lip quivering.
âYour dad helped you build those shelves you keep all your trophies from your cases on, right?â
Nancy sniffles and nods.
âHe wouldnât do that if he wasnât proud of your accomplishments, little one. Itâs okay, Nance, we all know how good you are.â
Nancy sniffles, but nods slowly...
And in a blink sheâs in the library as Nancy sits up, rubbing her neck... turning to Sylvia and hugging her tightly with a sniffle. âThanks.â
âDonât thank me yet. We gotta find the others. Where would Sammy be?â
And thatâs how they find themselves heading for Sammyâs room, and Sylvia tries the door. âItâs locked.â
âNot for long,â Nancy answers, getting into her bag and grabbing her lockpicking set.
In a moment, the two are in, finding Sammy asleep with part of her closet on her bed. Coordinating that weekâs outfits, of course. Sylvia sighs, walking over and brushing Sammyâs hair from her face...
Finding herself... once again in Sammyâs room, but without the closet spread on her bed. Turning to Sammyâs makeshift vanity, Sylvia suppresses a laugh. Of course itâs something like this. âHey, bug.â
Sammy whips around, tears rolling down her face and trying to cover her head. âNo, no, donât look at me, itâs awful!â
âSammy,â Sylvia canât help the chuckle that escapes her. âItâs not that bad.â
âIt is!â Sammy whines. âNothing is working on it!! Sylvia, itâs awful. I canât do it!â
âWell, if it makes you feel any better, youâre just having a nightmare.â Walking over, Sylvia picks up a hair brush from Sammyâs vanity and pulls up a chair, brushing it for the sake of keeping her hands busy more than for the sake of trying to fix anything. âSomeone cast a sleeping curse over Auradon. Itâs just a bad dream, bug, not a real bad hair day. I promise.â
Sammy sniffles, peaking at her in the mirror. â...yeah?â
âYeah,â Sylvia chuckles softly. âYour hair is fine. Itâs just a bad dream. Everyoneâs been trapped in their worst nightmares, from what Iâve seen. The only way to wake up has been to face them, or internalize that things arenât as bad as they seem or youâve imagined.â
â...how many of these have you seen?â
âA few. I woke up my friends Sam and Melinda, and Lillian of all people, then I got Nancy and we came to find you.â
â...this is just embarrassing for me, isnât it?â
âA little,â Sylvia chuckles. âItâs okay, bug. I kinda had it figured your nightmare might be something along these lines.â
Reaching out, she boops Sammyâs nose, making her laugh weakly. Smiling, Sylvia sighs, getting the mess of red hair to lay flat at least. âSo. Facing your nightmare.â
â...wait,â Sammy pouts, picking up a hat off her vanity and pulling it on, which only barely covers the damage. She frowns in the mirror... but sighs, nodding, grabbing her bag and forcing herself out the door...
Sylvia blinks and smiles, finishing brushing Sammyâs hair back from her face as the girl wakes up, mumbling, rubbing her eyes.
âTell no one,â she warns, and Sylvia nods with a laugh, smiling.
âCâmon, bug. Weâve got some friends to find.â
In the garage, if it werenât for the sleeping curse, Sylvia would have a hard time believing anyone was asleep. Lily had been blasting rock music and was sound asleep in front of her toolbox-- probably grabbing something when the curse hit.
Sylvia walks over and kneels down gently, reaching up and grabbing her shoulder...
Sheâs... in a park? Sylvia turns and finds Lily sitting blankly on the swings. Going over, she drops into the swing beside her. âHiya.â
Lily looks up and looks at her, and thatâs how Sylvia sees that the girl has definitely been crying, though she isnât now, and just looks... angry, which is normal. âMind telling me whatâs going on? Where are we, peanut?â
Thereâs a pause as Lily eyeballs her before sighing. âPark near my house. No one really uses it at this hour.â
âWhy are we here?â Sylvia cocks her head.
âMy stepmother kicked me out of the house,â Lily looks away from her and chucks the pebble sheâd picked up at the dirt. âI donât know whatâs going on. She just went off on me about how terrible and ungrateful I am and threw me out. Said Iâll never see my dad again.â
Sylvia nods. âWell, peanut, the good news is, this is a nightmare. Itâs not real. Youâre in a sleeping curse. The bad news is, Iâm not sure which part youâre actually afraid of, because the way to wake up is to face your fears.â
Lily looks at her, raising an eyebrow. Sylvia nods. Lily sighs and shrugs. âWell, isnât it obvious? Itâs about Audrey being evil, howâm I supposed to face that?â
âWell, yes and no,â Sylvia shakes her head. âI know you pretty well, Lily, and I... donât think youâre actually scared of Audrey being evil. I think youâd find that easier, because then hating her makes sense.â
âWhat else would it be?â Lily snarks.
âYouâre afraid of losing your dad,â Sylvia answers simply. âHeâs your entire life, anybody who knows you knows that. Youâre... peanut, you wanna be scared of your stepmother being evil, but thatâs not what bothers you about her. You just wanna know sheâs not gonna take your dad from you.â
Lily sniffles, tearing up again. âShut up-- no! No, itâs just her being evil, itâs just my stepmother being a real monster, itâs--â
âAw, Lily,â Sylvia reaches out, pulling their swings together just to hug her. âItâs okay, itâs okay.â
Lily sniffles, burrowing into her. âI just donât know where Iâd be without him, I donât know what Iâd do, I-- I--â
âShh, I know, I know. But listen to me. You know no oneâs going to take him from you, right? Not even her. Sheâs been in your life for, what, 15 years now? Peanut, you have every right to choose not to like her, but I just need you to know sheâs never gonna take him from you. Your dad wouldnât let her. Youâre as much his world as he is yours. Heâll never ever leave you. Okay? Heâll leave her before he leaves you.â
Lily sniffles, nodding, crying harder...
And Sylvia blinks, registering the loud rock music again and wincing, smiling as Lily wakes up, though.
Sammy skids over and hugs her best friend, and Lily sniffles, clearing her throat, laughing. âYou donât wanna do that, I was working before I passed out, Iâm probably greasy.â
âI donât care,â Sammy says, hugging her.
Sylvia smiles softly, and then addresses Lily. âCan you keep these two safe? I gotta find the others.
âAye, I can do that,â Lily nods, motioning Nancy over. âKeep in touch, let us know if youâre in danger.â
âWill do,â Sylvia smiles and hurries out of the garage.
Sylvia finds Grayson in the cafeteria. Probably looking for a snack to get through his studying, knowing him. She sighs as she reaches out to him...
And is surprised to find herself in what she assumes must be his family home, heading for--Â âWHAT are you DOING?â
Grayson yelps, looking back from the old portal to the ghost zone and blinking. âSylvia? How did you find me?â
âYouâre asleep, pumpkin, youâre having a nightmare, youâre still on campus at Auradon Pr-- no, you donât get to distract me right now, what are you about to do?â Sylvia grabs his arm and pulls him away.
âNightmare?â He bites his lip. â...promise?â
âI promise,â Sylvia squeezes his hands. âDid you see the sky go dark before whatever happened to you happened?â
He nods. She nods. âSomeone cast a sleeping curse over Auradon. I opened my eyes and found myself at the kitchen counter of my family home like Auradon didnât exist. Youâre just having a nightmare, pumpkin, but I ask again, what the hell were you doing?â
Grayson sniffles and rubs his eyes, pulling uncomfortably at the suit his grandparents had made him to explore the ghost zone. âI... I thought my ghost side was... gone. I couldnât go ghost and-- and you guys all left me, and my dad gave up on me and stopped spending time with me and my grandparents didnât care about me anymore and--â
He sniffles, motioning to the ghost zone. âI thought if I stepped through I might... might end up like dad. More half-dead than quarter-dead but... but then everyone would... would come back...â
Sylvia sighs and hugs him tightly. âAw, pumpkin. You know we donât care about that, right? Not us, not the Clue Crew. Youâre ours, we donât care at all about that, youâre still our friend and a great detective even without being part-ghost.â
â...yeah?â
âYeah,â Sylvia smiles at him. âAnd your parents donât care. They donât. You have to remember how much of a miracle it is that someone whoâs half-dead could even conceive. Thereâs no way they would love you any less if you lost your ghost powers. Your momâs not part-ghost, did she have any trouble helping your dad?â
He shakes his head. She nods with a smile. âExactly. No one cares about the ghost aspect. We love you, pumpkin, as you are.â
He nods, hugging her tightly...
...and blinks slowly reaching back to the back of his head as he sits up. Sylvia pulls back and smiles. âYou okay?â
âI think I hit my head,â he admits... before turning to his shadowy form and back again, smiling. âBut Iâm okay.â
Sylvia nods, helping him up. âStill gotta find Heather and Oliver.â
âI think I know where Heather is,â he says, and she nods, motioning for him to lead the way.
And, heâs right, they find Heather asleep by her locker with the door open. Thank god WOOHP hadnât gone looking for her. Sylvia sighs and kneels down, gently brushing Heatherâs hand out of her face...
...blinking in confusion as she looks around the unfamiliar bedroom. Hearing rustling in the closet, she steps over to it but it opens quickly before she has the chance to open it herself, finding Heather in a frenzy as she slings a bag over her shoulder. âSylvia? Nevermind, we gotta go, like, now--â the blonde grabs her arm and drags her to the window.
âHeather, whatâs going on?â
âWhatâs going on is I lost my clearance, and we gotta go before WOOHP catches up with me to erase my memories, Sylvia, please, câmon!â Heather opens her window and half climbs out it.
Sylvia sighs as she follows after her. âOh, baby, youâre okay--â
âNot for long!â
âNo, I mean-- this isnât real. Heather, youâre having a nightmare. Someone cast a sleeping curse over Auradon--â
âExplain on the run!â Heather grabs her arm and pulls her out the window, running over to her car. Sylvia sighs and follows after her.
As theyâre heading down the road, Heather holds up a hand. âOkay, so like, you say this isnât real?â
âAbout as real as me waking up at the kitchen counter at home and finding Auradon didnât exist, yeah. Youâre asleep, baby, this isnât real.â
âOkay, but like-- but like, what if, like, youâre wrong? I canât, I totally just, this is my life, I canât just, like, let it go.â
âHeather, baby, I promise. I found you asleep in front of your locker with Grayson, and when I grabbed your arm, I found myself in your dream. Youâre asleep, you really are,â she sighs. âYou have to face your fears to wake up. So youâre afraid of losing your clearance, losing your memories of your spy work?â
âYeah...â She sniffles. âI love being a spy, I love how things are, I know thatâs stupid but itâs just-- itâs like, really fun and I just, like, if Iâm not that then Iâm just...â
âAnother dumb blonde,â Sylvia realizes, and Heather nods, sniffling, crying. âBaby, pull over. I donât wanna find out if we can get hurt in dreams like this.â
Heather sniffles but nods and complies, pulling off to the side of the road and sobbing. âSylvia, Iâm scared. I donât wanna just be some ditz from Beverly Hills like everyone thinks. Iâm so much more but like, if this happens...â
Sylvia sighs, reaching over and playing with her hair. âItâs okay, baby, itâs okay. I know, youâre scared, but you know something? You are so much smarter than you realize, even without the spy stuff. You know what? Thatâs just like Sammy. Sheâs not a detective, sheâs not some kickass badass fighter. Sheâs just a diva, and we love her, and we love you. You are more than a spy, Heather, you always have been, I promise.â
Sylvia sighs, rubbing her arm. âShh, you are, you always have been. You havenât always been a spy, but youâve always been Heather, and you are loved just as Heather. You can still be so much even if you werenât a spy. I know you could be, because I know you, Heather. I know you.â
Heather sniffles, sobbing leaning over to hug her...
And Sylvia smiles down at the girl as she wakes up in front of her locker, sitting up, blinking and rubbing her eyes. âLike, ow.â
âYeah, figures,â Sylvia chuckles, helping her up.
âOhmygod, like, Sammy--â
âActually, sheâs okay. I woke Sammy, Nancy, and Lily, and theyâre in the garage. Weâre gonna get Oliver and head to join them and come up with something, okay?â Sylvia smiles.
Heather sighs and nods as Grayson helps her up, taking deep breaths. âOkay. So, like, letâs do this.â
Oliver is shockingly difficult to find, but when they manage to locate them, Sylvia chuckles softly, seeing theyâd fallen asleep replaying a certain song. Of course. Walking over, she gently sets a hand on their shoulder.
Oh. Oh this is... yeah, sheâd call this one a nightmare. âWhat in the hell?â
Someone grabs her arm and pulls her down. Sylvia squeaks and looks over at... âOliver? Jinkies, sunshine, you scared me. Whatâs going on?â
âYou should be scared,â is all he mutters, looking up and watching the sky. âI donât know what happened, but someone altered history again, and someone went against my grandpaâs wishes.â
âWhat do you mean?â Sylvia sighs. Easier to resolve a fear if she strikes at the core of it, unfortunately.
âItâs complicated--? Come on,â and Oliver pulls her along quickly to an alleyway. âSo, my grandfather, in one version of the timeline, created a robotic bowler hat that was supposed to help someone get ready in the mornings, but, the original variant became... sentient, and evil. DOR15 was supposed to be shut down and locked up as another failure, but... wasnât off, and escaped. She planned to destroy my grandfather for abandoning her, humanity for existing and my family just to make my grandpa suffer, but... when he was a kid, my dad went back in time, found my grandpa as a kid, brought him back to fix things, and... eventually, my grandpa as a kid, vowed to never invent the hat and fixed the timeline entirely. DOR15â˛s evil plans never came to be, which meant my family was spared from her mind control based wrath. Except. Somehow. The timeline was altered again. And this is the result.â
He pulls her into a very abandoned looking building. Probably condemned, if she had to guess. âHow did you escape? Are you okay?â
âWell... thatâs just it,â Sylvia sighs. âThis isnât real. Youâre asleep, youâre having a nightmare. Auradonâs under a sleeping curse, sunshine, I promise this isnât real.â
Oliver blinks, looking at her, then at the door, shaking his head. âI donât believe you.â
âHey, sunshine, itâs me,â Sylvia takes his hand. âItâs me. I promise. Youâre just asleep. Everythingâs fine-- well, evil takeover, sleeping curse, everyoneâs trapped in their nightmares-- but everythingâs fine. This isnât real.â She shakes her head softly as she says that, smiling at him.
They bite their lip and look at the door again. Reaching up, Sylvia turns their head away. âItâs okay, itâs okay. You just want your family to be okay, right? I know, I know. But I promise you itâs just a nightmare. Itâs not real, your family is fine. Youâre safe. Youâre safe.â
They sniffle and hug her tightly. Sylvia smiles, hugging them back, rubbing their back. âCome on, realistically, whoâs ever gonna look at your grandpaâs story and try to make that hat again? Whoâs ever gonna take that story and go, âIâm sure itâll be fine, I can do it and this wonât happenâ? Nobody, sunshine, nobody is gonna do that, is gonna do this. I promise. I promise.â
Oliver sighs, nodding slowly, smiling weakly...
...Sylvia chuckles when they jolt awake. âMorning. Well, afternoon. If you can even believe that. Câmon, weâd better get back to the garage. Nancy, Sammy, and Lily are already there. Weâll work something out from th--â
âEretria,â he interrupts, looking around between the three and shaking his head anxiously. âNo, no, I gotta-- I gotta wake Eretria first. Iâll meet you, okay? The garage? Iâll meet you. Go on back, Iâll be there, just go.â He gets his stuff together quickly.
âOliver--â Sylvia starts.
âGo! Iâll join you, itâll be fine,â they smile at their friends before heading out abruptly.
Sylvia sighs, flinging a hand at the door, shaking her head. Heather rubs her shoulders. âHeâll be okay.â
âYeah, itâs Oliver,â Grayson agrees. âTheyâll probably come back with snacks and half a dozen unfinished plans they borrowed from their sister. Câmon, we should meet up with the girls.â
Sam whined a bit. âYou know you canât just ask me to make that decision. Melindaâs my best friend, Novaâs my girlfriend⌠I canât just choose.â
He bounced nervously, looking back out the window. This was bad. This was really bad. âMaybe- maybe we just wake up the first one we find?â
âOkay. Thatâs okay. Câmon.â
Sylvia, grips his hand and heads off down the hall. Theyâve gotta find them.
Sam blinked, taking her hand and standing⌠and freezing. âJesusâŚâ The sky was so dark. The sun was⌠was that an eclipse? No, but that didnâtâŚ
He looked around at all the people, everyone sleeping, everyone but them. What the hell? What the hell? He looked at Sylvia in panic. âMelinda and Nova!â
Sylvia nods quickly. âI have a bad feeling that Melindaâs gonna need both of us, do you wanna get Nova first?â She gently brushes his hair back out of his eyes and kisses his forehead, hugging him gently for a moment.

Sam nodded, taking a deep breath. âWhat kind of man breaks his kids like you broke us and then says it was to protect them?! Youâre just too scared of facing the truth! You just donât want to admit that Mom died under your roof when you shouldâve been able to protect her!â
âShut your mouth!â John yelled.
âNO!â Sam unbuckled his seat belt. âIâm not shutting my mouth! Because Iâm tired of doing what you want!â He looked at Sylvia, then nodded, grabbing the door handle and rolling out of the car, tucking into a ball-
His eyes flew open as he sat up, breathing hard, looking around, smiling weakly when his gaze landed on Sylvia. âAm I awake?â
Sylvia nods, gripping his hand, ready to follow--
She blinks back into reality, where she had her hands on his shoulders to shake him awake, laughing softly, smiling and nodding. âYou are. Hi. Good... well, itâs supposed to be afternoon, if you can believe it.â She gestures to the windows before offering a hand to help him to his feet.
âDammit,â Sam mumbled. He shook his head a little, trying his best to breathe along with her. She was there. She was there. That was enough.
Wait.
He pulled away, looking towards his father, then back at Sylvia. âI know what I have to do.â He looked at John, taking a deep breath. âYou⌠youâre just a coward!â
John glared at him in the mirror. âDonât you talk to me that way, boy.â
Sam flinched, looking at Sylvia for a moment, trying to collect himself.
Sylvia rubs his back, looking at him and nodding encouragingly. She looks up when John speaks and fights her instinctive urge to snap at him, just reaching out and squeezing Samâs hand tightly.
She nods to him again, gripping his hand, smiling. Silent encouragement. You can do this.
Sam wrinkled his nose at her, chuckling a little. He hugged her as tight as he could, burying his face in her shoulder. Heâd needed her. Heâd really needed her. He shook his head, mumbling a little.
âNot more important,â he said quietly. âJust more cowardly and brokenâŚâ He shook his head a little. âI donât know how to wake upâŚâ
âI think... I think you have to confront your nightmare... face your fear.â Sylvia rubs his back, hugging him as close as she can. âIn mine, I had to see you not knowing who I am and try to live with that, try to acknowledge that Auradon never happened and... still try to make it happen for the three of us. And-- and beat up your dad and your brother.â She sniffles, laughing weakly. âI... I think you have to face your fears to wake up.â
She rubs his back, trying to reassure him, taking deep breaths to try and lead him into following them. âWhich is something I canât do for you.â
Dean blinked, looking at John then back at the two teenagers, confused.
Sam frowned a little when she pulled away, leaning into her hand a little. Heâd already known that if she hadnât come into his life - if any of them hadnât come into his life - heâd have been so fucked, but apparently it took experience to know exactly how much heâd miss her. He shook his head.
âSleeping curse? Wait- you came for me? That doesnât make sense. You shouldâve gone to find Melinda first, sheâs more important-â
Sylvia holds up a hand, pressing a finger to his lips. âAh-ah-ah, no. We donât do that in this family, you little shit.â She hugs him tightly. âYou needed me more. Your nightmare was gonna be a lot worse than hers as far as the toll it would take on your mind.â
She knows exactly what Melindaâs nightmare would be, because she knew her. Same as she knew Sam, and knew his would be worse. âYouâre most important. End of story.â
The car swerved a little as John reacted to Sylvia. Sam squeaked at the sudden appearance of-
âSylvia?!â He launched himself at her, hugging her tight. âOh my God, I thought- I thought Iâd lost you! Dean doesnât know what Auradon is and- and I thought that- I thought it was all a dream-â
âWhat the hell is going on back there?!â Dean said, looking back and yelping. âWho are you?!â
Sylvia squeaks, smiling, hugging him back tightly, running a hand through his hair. âNo, hey, hey, hey, itâs okay, itâs okay, Iâm right here, youâre okay.â
Okay, so maybe her own nightmare had fucked her up just a little bit. She hugs him tighter, considering ignoring Dean and John even more, but then deciding âfuck itâ and glancing at him, rolling her eyes. âShut the fuck up, I already beat your ass in my nightmare, I wonât hesitate to do it again.â
Gently pulling back, she turns her attention back to Sam, smiling, gently cupping his cheek. âHey, hey buddy, youâre asleep. Youâre having a nightmare. Someoneâs cast a sleeping curse, the whole schoolâs out. I beat my way out of mine and came to find you.â

Fact: the sky had gone dark for a few seconds. Fact: there wasn't supposed to be an eclipse for another three months. Fact: Sam was supposed to be on his way to class.
But when his eyes opened, he wasn't in a hallway. He wasn't with his friends. It didn't even take one second for him to register where he was. But... why was he in the back seat of his father's car?
He looked out the window, confused. Dark. It was dark. "Dad? Dean? What's going on? Where are we?"
Dean glanced back at Sam. "Morning Sleeping Beauty. We're going hunting, obviously."
Sam froze. "What?" He looked out the window again. "No but- but I was just-" He stopped, blinking. "I was just in Auradon."
"Auradon?" Dean said, raising an eyebrow. "Someone dreamed pretty hard. Coming up with fake places like that."
Sam shook his head, trying to breathe. No no no. Auradon... Sylvia... Melinda... Nova...
@nxtmyweird
Sam. Melinda will survive, Melinda will understand-- hell, Melinda would be furious if she got her first.
Sam needs her. Sylviaâs careful as she slips through the school, quiet, making sure no one sees her. At one point, she hears footsteps, but they fade away, and she never sees anyone, so she thinks sheâs probably just on edge.
There!
Sylvia rushes over to Sam, sound asleep and not doing very well. Then again, no one really is right now, she thinks. But how does she wake him?
Reaching over, she moves to shake him...
...and blinks, finding herself suddenly sitting in the backseat of his familyâs car. âOh, thatâs how that works. I hate magic.â She turns to Sam and smiles reassuringly. âHey, stranger. Time to wake up.â
Sam stepped back more, shaking his head. No, no, this didnât make any sense. But he watched her, and listened, glancing at John when she nodded towards him. He took a deep breath.
âOkay.â He went over and took her hand.
Sylviaâs eyes snap open and she sits up, rubbing her neck. Had she just fallen asleep on her floor?
...had she dreamed all of that up?
Holy shit, she was back in her dorm room at AP. Sheâd... sheâd had a nightmare.
The sky going dark, she remembers suddenly. Sylvia rushes to the window, pulling back the curtains.
The sky is dark, as if... an eclipse. But that... that couldnât be. Something was wrong. She looks back at where sheâd been sitting, her mind working fast. She rarely falls asleep when meditating, especially not since she came here. Here, the idea of falling asleep when sheâs relaxing is... actually more stressful.
She looks back out her window, which she was lucky enough overlooks the courtyard.
Someoneâs asleep on a bench.
More students asleep at tables.
Sheâs right. Somethingâs WRONG.
Sylvia gets up and goes over to her dresser, changing into something easy to move in, strapping her taser holster to her leg, tying her hair back.
First step is to find her best friends, and probably wake them up.
Theyâll figure this out, together. Itâs their best bet.
John dropped to the ground, though barely letting out a real reaction, just grumbling and groaning, his form seeming to flicker for a split second.
Sam yelped and stepped away, lowering his gun and grabbing his wand instead. âWhat the hell?!â
Dean blinked, jumping away from her. He narrowed his eyes at her. âI donât like that you know my name.â He swung the shovel at her.
Tragically predictable. She catches the shovel easily, glaring at him. âWSN. Itâs my job. But I knew your name for the same reason I know his.â
She pulls at the shovel, bringing up her knee when she jerks him into her and wrenching it away, staggering back and swinging a kick into his side. And with that momentum, as her leg comes down, her arm comes up and she nails him with the shovel-- not enough to do anything serious, just enough to knock him out.
Sighing, she shakes her head. âHard head.â She turns back to Sam and immediately softens up, shaking her head. âLook... I canât make sense of whatâs going on. I canât make it make sense, and I canât force you to understand. But... I can help you. Because what youâve taken from that man,â she nods to John, âIs nothing short of abuse. And even if you donât know who I am... I know you, Sam, and I know you deserve so much better.â
She reaches out her hand to him. âMy name is Sylvia. Let me help you.â
Sam froze up. How Nope, that was impossible, because they kept under the radar. Nobody was allowed to know. Hell, they were supposed to even wipe the memories of the people who they saved.
John and Dean looked at each other, shaking their heads. Dean went over to Sam and grabbed his shoulder, pulling him back away from her.
âSam,â John said, not even giving the girl the time of day, âerase this. All of this. I donât care what you replace it with. She knows too much.â
Sam looked up at him and hesitated, looking back over at her. âDo I have to?â
âYou do it, or Dean will,â John growled.
And as abruptly as sheâd started crying... Sylvia sobers up.
Because no matter what happens to her... she isnât letting this bastard take her best friends from her.
She stands up, subtly drawing her taser as she does. âNo, Sam. You donât have to.â
And she whirls on her heel, tasing Mr. Winchester, keeping her eyes on Dean when she does. âDean, I donât wanna have to hurt you, but if you canât for once in your life think for yourself, I will have to. Donât make me have to fight you, too.â
Sam frowned a bit, glancing back at his father before shaking his head at the girl. Best friend? He⌠didnât have friends. He shook his head again. âLook, I donât know where you came from, but youâve got the wrong guy. I donât know you.â
âSomeone call the looney bin,â Dean mumbled. âLooks like weâve got a live one.â
No no no no.
Sylvia runs a hand through her hair, trying to breathe, glancing at Dean and glaring. âIf weâve got one, weâve got four, considering what youâre in the midst of-- let me guess by the way, ghost? I donât know, I do know what happened in Annapolis though. With the crocotta?â
She shakes her head, pacing a bit, starting to work herself up. âThis-- this isnât making any sense anymore. It was you, me, and Melinda, we met-- we met at school because all three of us were trying to find normal friends and none of us-- none of us were normal, right? I mean, youâre a monster-hunting wizard, Iâm-- you said I was more badass than you guys were legally allowed to know, which is true, and Melindaâs the reincarnation of Morgan fucking Le Fay but we found each other and--â
She doesnât know when she started crying but she trips and hits the ground and sheâs sobbing. She canât lose her best friends. She canât go through that.

âDig faster,â John said. Dean grumbled a little to himself. âWhat did you say?â
Dean looked up from the grave, shaking his head. âNothing, sir. Just that I hate ghosts.â John watched him, not saying anything, just crossing his arms. Dean cleared his throat and went back to digging.
Sam, on the other hand, was keeping watch for the ghost, holding his sawed-off tight. He turned when he heard his name, blinking and taking a step back, keeping his gun ready. Trickery, maybe? âUhâŚâ
Dean quickly climbed out of the grave, ready to use his shovel as weapon if necessary.
âWho⌠are you?â Sam said slowly. âHow do you know my name?â
That stops her cold. Sylvia freezes, blinking, her face falling hard at the questions. âNo, no, no, that doesnât-- that doesnât make sense.â
She sighs and shakes her head to herself, âWho am I kidding, none of this makes sense-- we were going to school together and the entire country the school was in disappears from existence, dammit, I donât--â
She shakes her head and looks at Sam, outright ignoring Dean and John because she didnât give a damn. âSam, please. Youâre my best friend. I canât... I definitely canât put up with whateverâs going on anymore, not alone.â
In fact, between what her bosses had known and a little tiny bit of a quick internet search, Sylvia had figured out exactly where the Winchesters were. The easy part was getting into town, all things considered.
But finding the men, specifically, proved near impossible till she found the car outside a graveyard... in the middle of the night.
For fuckâs sake, they didnât make it easy on her. She parks, quietly getting out of her car and going to find them.
Her heart pounding in her ears, she visibly relaxes when she sees him, not even thinking about anything to do with the circumstances as she rushes over. âSam! Thank GOD youâre okay.â
