I was watching the UA orientation, or at least the recording of it. I had missed it, because my homeroom teacher, Aizawa, otherwise known as Eraser Head, had decided to skip it. Instead, we took some physical aptitude tests, with the difference that quirks were allowed to enhance our physical capabilities. I was actually the one that came in last, but despite Aizawa's previous threats, I was not expelled from the academy. My ability didn't help with physical activities in any way, and my body was quite weak, so it was no surprise to me when I found out I came in last. Also, I don't actually have a quirk.
Now, why was I in UA despite this? To answer the question of why a boy that didn't even want to become a hero went to this prestigious academy for heroing, we must go back in time a little bit.
As usual, I had been summoned by Mori. His disgusting violet eyes slid down my slender figure, covered in bandages and a black coat over a shirt with a tie. Only one of my eyes was visible, the other covered in more bandages. My eye was set on the doctor in front of me, as I awaited his orders.
"Dazai-kun." I almost shivered. The way that the man said my name was also disgusting, I had to keep myself from barfing. No matter how much I despised the man, he was still somewhat smart, and had partially restored the Port Mafia's previous honour. Not just anyone could do that, although I must admit that I had been a huge help as well. Seriously, what would the Port Mafia do without me?
This thought process took place in approximately 0.1 seconds.
"Dazai-kun, I have a new mission for you." Continued Mori. Elise sat in front of him, drawing something on a paper with some crayons. I looked at the picture for a second with curiosity. I think it was a cat. Or a really big rat. I looked back at Mori.
"And was it necessary to summon me in order to tell me?" I asked. He could have just sent someone to tell me, or just send me papers or something? Is it because it's a classified mission for soukoku? No, because he would obviously summon Chuuya as well. Then, now I'm just curious. A classified super secret mission only for me? Tell me, old man, get on with it!
This thought process took place in 0.2 seconds.
Mori smiled. "I need you to infiltrate a school."
Well, that's just boring, boo! I thought it would actually be something interesting for once but noooooo, it's just a stupid boring infiltration mission, in a high school nonetheless! Though, it must be important if he's sending me. If this were any normal infiltration mission, he could send almost anyone else.
"Which school would that be?" I asked. I think I let my disinterest show a little bit.
Mori's smile grew wider. "UA academy, the hero course."
If I had been drinking a glass of water at that moment, I'm sure I would have spat the water immediately. UA academy!? But last time I checked, that's outside Yokohama! No one just leaves Yokohama! I mean, it's just the only city with an entire population of quirkless people in Japan! It's isolated from the outside world, and people from the outside didn't even know what happened in Yokohama. The only thing known about the city was that it despised heroes. And UA. It was a widely known prestigious academy for heroes. That basically means kids with powerful quirks attended the school. Now, all I could do was speculate why Mori would want to send me there. He'll probably have me spy on UA and the heroes. Even though the Port Mafia was usually just limited to Yokohama due to the restrictions of quirkless people (that composed a 20% of the world population) and people with quirks (which composed the other 80%), even I had heard of the League of Villains. What a lame name. Well, I guess Port Mafia isn't a better name, I mean, we're the mafia that operates in the port, but whatever. Well, rumour has it that they were planning something big. Mori probably wants me to find out stuff about that.
"I assume you want me to spy on the actions of the heroes?" I stated.
I sighed. "When do I leave?"
"Tomorrow." Noooooo, I'm leaving already?? But I'm not even gonna get the chance to see Chuuya before I leaveeee. Moriiii you're so crueeeeel...
"If that is the case, then I shall take my leave."
I indeed left, and I was thinking of going to the Lupin Bar. If I'm lucky, I would be able to see Odasaku or Ango. Chuuya was away on a mission, so I couldn't hope to find him anywhere. Ahhhh, I do wonder what the League of Villains want, though I'm mostly sure they're just a bunch of misfits that society treated badly. Bet their purpose is to destroy the world or something like that. Such stupidity. It would surely be infinitely more fun to infiltrate them instead. Ahhhhh, I don't want to go to schooooool...
In the end, that's basically how I ended up watching this boring orientation video, with mister loud teacher destroying my ears. I obviously got someone to fake a recommendation, so I didn't have to do the stupid exam. Now, I'm just bored. This afternoon I have nothing to do, so I decided to watch the orientation video, to see if I could learn anything new about the heroes. Sadly, there wasn't anything that I didn't already know. After all, the night after coming here, I stayed up studying everything that I could, so I would know how UA and the outside world functioned. I had never took an interest in it before, since I had never needed this information, and that night I discovered just how little I knew about the outside world. Turns out in UA, there are normal classes in the morning, and hero course classes in the afternoon, after lunch in the cafeteria. After school, I would go back to the apartment that I rented with Mori's money. I made sure it was a very expensive apartment. I always finished homework in five minutes, since it was all super easy, and after that, I had nothing to do.
In school, I attempted to make lots of friends, to make information gathering an easier task, and I succeeded. I normally acted as the funny dumb guy, so I rapidly befriended electricity guy, and red-haired guy after that (Kaminari and Kirishima if I remember correctly). After that, everyone just eventually became my friends, except Bakugou, who was kind of stupid anyway, so I don't think he's really that necessary. And Todoroki didn't befriend me either, but he's just awkward. I did try to be kind to him anyway, since he's the son of Endeavour (ranked second in the hero classification) and a valuable possible informant.
Mori had yet to specify what he was actually interested in hearing from the heroes, so in reports I just told him everything I discovered. Yes, I like wasting his time. So yeah, that's my school life. This is stupid. Nothing interesting ever happens, just ordinary nonsense.
