Class: Kinder 4 & 5

Date: April 8th, 2026

Our story for today was Little Blue and Little Yellow. This is a story about friendship and also mixing different colors.

We made dough, everyone helped to measure and mix their own ingredients. The ingredients are water, flour, oil, salt, and food coloring. We colored the dough balls blue and yellow, then mixed them to make green - just like in our story!

We also made little circles of different colored paint. The students discussed their ideas about what would happen if we mixed the different colors. We tested it and were surprised about many of the combinations.

Today marked the final day of our Leo Lionni week, and we celebrated with the beautiful story Little Blue and Little Yellow. The children were delighted as we explored colors through singing, dancing, and hands-on activities.

In the morning, we learned about color mixing by using fluffy paint made from shaving foam and paint. The children enjoyed experimenting as they mixed primary colors to discover secondary colors. During the activity, we asked, “If we mix two colors together, what will it be?”—and the excitement grew as they eagerly watched the colors change right before their eyes!

In the afternoon, we made our own playdough using flour, salt, oil, food coloring, and water. The children helped mix the ingredients and created blue and yellow playdough. After some free play, we revisited the story using the playdough. The children were amazed and happy to see the blue and yellow combine to make green, just like in the story!

It was a joyful and engaging day filled with creativity and discovery. Thank you for joining our Spring Course—we hope to see you again in the summer!

We read the book Swimmy today. This book was a big hit, we even watched an animated version on the projector. In this book, a school of little fish team-up to scare away larger fish.

We made our own tiny fish foam stamp and used it to recreate the climax of the story. We made strips of seaweed to add detail to our picture.

We applied fish scales to a fish, making beautiful patterns and practicing our teamwork skills.

Songs: THE GOLD FISH

Today we continued exploring the wonderful storybooks of Leo Lionni. We read the story Swimmy, and the children really enjoyed learning about the little fish and his adventure.

After the story, we made a Swimmy craft. The children listened carefully and followed the instructions step by step. They did a fantastic job, and the finished crafts looked amazing! We are so proud of their effort and creativity.

We also had fun playing color games and singing songs together. It was a joyful and active day filled with learning and laughter.

To end our class, we did some simple yoga to help our bodies relax and calm down. It was a peaceful and happy way to finish our day.

Our story was about three goat brothers and how they used the intelligence and strength to trick a mean troll. The story uses different vocabulary to compare sizes. We practiced comparing differ items around the classroom.

We built bridges using different materials. The bridges had to be taller than the troll but strong enough to support all three goats.

We made troll puppets, but everyone decided to take more artistic freedom in their puppet design.

Leo Lionni Week Fun! 🦎🌈

Today we enjoyed celebrating Leo Lionni Week! We read a variety of his wonderful stories, and the children especially loved the story about the chameleon.

For our craft, we explored colors in a fun and creative way. The children used paints and rollers to make a bright and colorful background. After that, they carefully cut out their chameleon and added their own colors to make it unique!

We also had fun playing a hoops game using different colors. One of the games was a guessing game—children stood on different colored hoops, and we guessed which color they were standing on. If the guess was correct, that player was out. It was exciting and full of laughter!

It was a joyful day full of creativity, color, and learning! 🌟

Last Day of Dr. Seuss & Easter Fun – Course C

Today marked the final day of our Dr. Seuss and Easter Fun – Course C, and what a wonderful day it was! We truly enjoyed spending time playing and learning together with your children, especially during our lively circle time and fun exercises.

In the morning, the children got creative as they made adorable bunny hats and colorful Easter baskets. It was lovely to see their imagination and excitement come to life through their crafts.

In the afternoon, we held a much-anticipated Easter egg hunt. The children were absolutely thrilled, eagerly searching and happily discovering their Easter eggs. Their smiles and laughter filled the room with joy!

After all the excitement, we had a short quiet time to relax, followed by a gentle yoga session. The children were incredibly cute as they followed along—even our youngest participants did their best to mimic the poses!

Topic: Easter Egg Hunt

Date: April 3rd, 2026

Today marked the final day of our wonderful week-long Hansel and Gretel Easter Fun spring course, and what a joyful ending it was!

Our theme was the much-anticipated Easter egg hunt. We started the day off by learning about five important Easter symbols: the egg, chick, bunny, lamb and basket along with their meanings of new life and new beginnings. The students proudly wove their own Easter baskets, which they later used to collect colorful eggs during the hunt. The children also created beautiful Easter cards featuring these symbols, adding thoughtful touches to represent what they learned.

It has been a fun and creative week, and we are so proud of all the students’ enthusiasm and hard work!

Date: April 3rd, 2026

Easter Sunday is this weekend, so we introduced different fun Easter activities. We made baskets by folding large pieces of paper. Most students could follow along with the steps, those that had trouble were helped by classmates. It was a good exercise in teamwork.

We had an egg hunt inside the school! The Kinder 4 and 5 were so quick, we couldn’t even get photos! Each child found six eggs and will open them at home to find out what is inside.

We decorated wooden eggs. Each one was different, we talked about or favorites and tried trading with our friends, but in the end, everyone kept their own.

We finished our journals for the week and took them home.

We read Ten Apples Up On Top today. In this story, different animals balance up to ten apples on their heads. We had a fun time with this story. We played math games with balancing challenges. We counted and stacked blocks, trying to balance a stack from 1 to 10 blocks. We counted cups and stacked ten of them in different ways. Some ways were easy and some were hard.

We made art with each classmates’ funny face. We stacked different numbers of apples on their heads and worked together to do math problems with the different numbers. We read another Dr. Seuss book about colors and feelings. We gave our own opinions on which feelings we feel when we see different colors.

Today, we focused on the book *Ten Apples Up on Top* by Dr. Seuss. In the morning, we did a lot of dancing and exercising, followed by storytime where the teacher read several books. After that, we had a cooking activity where we crushed Jell-O and added gummy fish to it. The children were so excited to bring their creations home!

In the afternoon, we practiced our alphabet and phonics, along with some counting activities. We also tried balancing red cups, which we pretended were the apples from the storybook. The children enthusiastically participated in this activity.

Once we wrapped that up, we moved on to an extra activity and made apple crafts. Since we finished early, we set up some hula hoops and played a game. Finally, we read another book before saying goodbye.

Topic: Trap the Witch!

Our elementary spring school is in full swing, and this week’s Hansel and Gretel Easter Fun theme brought an exciting twist with our “Trap the Witch” engineering design challenge! Students were introduced to the five steps of engineering design process: ask, imagine, plan, create, improve. They brainstormed creative ideas and carefully designed their own traps to catch the sneaky witch.

After building their prototypes, the real excitement began as they tested their designs to see if they worked. When something didn’t go as planned, students revisited their ideas and made improvements, showing their perseverance.

Along the way they practiced important skills like problem-solving, creativity and critical thinking. We had so much fun combining storytelling and STEAM in this hands-on challenge!

Books: One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr Seuss

Today in our Spring Course, the children had a wonderful and fun-filled day!

We started by a big circle time and reading story inspired by Dr Seuss. After the big circle we made jelly using jelly powder, syrup, and hot water. The children took turns mixing and were very excited to see how it changed into jelly!

For craft time, we made a special activity inspired by the book One Fish Two Fish by Dr. Seuss. The children enjoyed creating colorful and playful crafts connected to the story.

Before finishing, we played two fun ABC games. One game was finding letters and placing them on the puzzle board, and the other was sorting letters. These games helped the children practice their alphabet skills while having fun.

It was a joyful day full of learning, creativity, and teamwork!

We read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. This book has rhyming words on every page, and it introduces a lot of imaginary, fantastic creatures. It has funny words and pictures. We used this book for both of our activities today.

We made artwork with irregular paper shapes. We added pencil drawings to make our own imaginary animals. For most, this was a challenging task. They were not told what to make or what to do. Some children used the story book for inspiration.

We made blue jello in the morning. After it set, we used it to make mini fish tanks, adding gummy fish to make it a sweet snack.

Day 3 of our spring school was full of Easter fun as we continued our Hansel and Gretel adventure!

Today we focused on the magical house and explored how shapes help buildings stay strong and stable. We built triangles and rectangles and tested their strength by gently pressing and seeing if they would change shape. The children discovered that triangles are especially strong and hold their shape better than other shapes.

After our shape experiments, we immersed ourselves in the story by creating our own gingerbread forest and houses. The students designed and decorated their creations with colorful candies. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they combined storytelling with hands-on learning.

We can’t wait to see what adventures Day 4 will bring!

Eggs and Ham Fun Day! 🥚💚

Today we read the story Dr. Seuss’ Eggs and Ham. The children listened and enjoyed the story.

We made yummy “eggs and ham” using biscuits, white chocolate, and M&M’s. The children had fun spreading and making their treats.

For our craft, we painted egg shapes. We put paper in a bowl with green paint and marbles, then rolled them around. It was fun to see the colors move! For the ham, the children made lines by scribbling.

At the end, we did a bunny dance and some simple yoga. The children were so cute and followed directions very well.

Date: March 31st, 2026

Before class started today, a tall tower was built. It was fun to see such great teamwork and it was a great start to the day.

We read Green Eggs and Ham. We made sweets that look like a green egg. We used different ingredients and will bring this home. The book had a lot of rhyming words and funny pictures.

After lunch, our art project used paint set up to look like a green egg. The students finger-painted, used markers, and applied stickers to make an original design.

We wrote in our journals and did show and tell.
