…banish your obvious regrets, they are blemishes upon a perfect canvas, meant to be covered with life’s brush strokes.

As I walk, by. Common shrapnel caresses my thighs, wears holes. It is drawn to their vessel, scruffy hat, takeaway cup, open hand. Yet, judgement stays the hand. It has seen them, pooling resources for a hit, a bottle, whichever. And I catch myself too late, moment past. Why shouldn't I spare this base metal let them numb the synapses as I do with other drugs? Let them cope. © Nik Vosper 2013
