It was hard for the brunet to hold himself back; his brows kinked up immediately from the other’s remark, a scoff forced to be heard for him to make a convincing retortion. “Do I?” He questioned, feigning his doubt with the help of his narrowed eyes, though the reflection his hues seems to be showing held a spark of interest; a kind of entertainment he was personally looking forward to. It was as if a bell has rung inside his head, starting a match with the girl on the other side of the ring. “You can’t do that,” Jasper shook his head as he extended his point. “You can’t just show me the key to a locked door and expect me to watch you walk away with it. Unlock the damn door,” he almost commanded, speaking in metaphors and playing riddles in his head. “God’s got quite a lot of people to take care of. Surely his hands are tied. He’s occupied for the time being, so come on – “ he placed his guitar besides him before sitting himself up; both arms now placed on the table as he leaned forward. “Enlighten me.”
nadia’s heart raced with a certain giddiness, their game of cat and mouse never failing to get her riled up. she wanted to give in; wanted to leave behind her musings of god and the roads she paved that led to no where. but nadia was far too stubborn and far too self-righteous to give it to let him have her that easily. as jasper stood up, nadia did as well, a smirk reminiscent of a snake on her face. she strutted out of the diner, purposefully not taking his hand or doing anything to make it seem like she wanted him to follow her. but nadia knew as well as jasper himself that he would follow her. she led him down a hallway, making sure to sway her hips a bit more than usual.
