Varis typically only takes on a female form when he's about to do something absolutely horrible. That's the case here as well. He tricks his victims and only reveals his true intentions when it's too late to escape from him. He will also transform into a male form when he commits his heinous acts. This piece depicts the moment right before he makes his victim regret they were even born.

Varis isn't much of a kisser but he can be persuaded. The deal with Varis is that he won't do any "lovey-dovey shit", for example he will not cuddle with anyone under any circumstances. Oh and that's Alfred, one of his boyfriends :)
