i keep thinking about how much royce uses.... rose? in fact, he actually doesn’t ever call her by her name during their relationship. she isn’t roshan to him, she is “flower” to him. in all of their time together, he never calls her roshan or any variation of the name. becuase she does not feel like a person to him. it is also part of the reason as to why she hates rosalie for a good while after turning into a vampire. her nickname is rose, a goddamned flower, and it’s like she can never get away from him

tiny reminder that i don’t acknowledge royce as rose’s fiancé. in my portrayal, rose is a woman of color, she lived in a pretty racist america. for higher that her parents money got her, no white man would want her as a wife. she was his mistress while being underage, and married. she was in the relationship because she thought she was never going to get anything better.
