Ok, I cheated. This song is a staple in my library; it's one of those brisk-walk-to-the-office songs that steels you for the crap that is to come and gives you that small hope that whatever hardship one is going through now shall come to pass.
I realize I've been playing this on an almost-daily basis just before I get to work. Says a lot, really. =|
This song is very uncharacteristic of me (people who know me IRL and in the other SNS'es would wholeheartedly agree); I mean, look at the lyrics.Â

@UpDharmaDown 's Capacities is a deceptive, cynical trickster of an album. Hiding behind the upbeat beats, cheerful-soundling arpeggios, plethora of electronica and lush guitars is a vicious beast that will rip your heart out and make your mind spew existentialist and nihilistic thoughts. Bad, abusive relationships, real ones or just inside your head, whether it's with people or with something else like work, life or the voices in your head. Relationships that are heading down the gutter. Unrequited love. Catch-22 situations. Inner kids crying out as adults slowly kill them. And that's just the first few layers. How much each song bares the psyche of the writer, how much of each song is truth, how much of this review is just cynical bullshit, one might never know.
Turn It Well
Your inner kid is telling you to stop killing him/her through ~*adult*~ things such as expectations and (too much?) responsibilities of being an adult ('cover all my windows' - Seriously? Gods that line is so sad), work and money-related things because in the end, your inner kid will be the one to help you find yourself in the midst of all the madness. So; drop everything you're doing now. Take time for yourself. Find where you can get your kicks.  And walk through the woods with fingers crossed once in a while.
Luna
Now this is a laslas party-worthy song. ILABAS NA ANG MGA BLADE!
Parks
I'm at a loss with Parks. It feels like a big "what now?" hanging over your head and there's no correct answer. You look left (or right) to your companion at this crossroad, and all you get are more questions with a healthy dash of self-doubt. Other than that, I'm not sure. Maybe that's the point - this song is about uncertainty.
Indak
Good thing they didn't put this after Luna, otherwise it'd be a one-two punch of laslas party-worthy songs. ILABAS NA ANG MGA KALAMANSI, PIGAAN ANG BLADE BAGO MAGLASLAS NG SABAY-SABAY WOOOO!
Seriously though. This is such a beautiful Catch-22 of a song.Â
Feelings
This should really be sung as a duet, like "I'll Cover You" from Rent and used as a theme song for the most heartbreaking, tear-jerking, Jun'ai (lit. Japanese for true love) film. Imagine a newly-married couple that were friends since forever before they became an item and someone is dying from some disease. If you've read the graphic novel adaptation of Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain, this song will make so much sense.
One can look at this song as a bunch of conversations that feed each other in a Möbius strip of regret and goodbyes, the kind one gets while in front of a loved one's grave. Excuse me while I curl up in a corner and cry myself to sleep.
Thinker
The tale of a bad, bad, BAD relationship between a passive-aggressive, abusive and self-serving pig and a pushover who decided to push back HARD after a few futile attempts of leaving. I can easily see Armi flipping the bird while singing "Does this free your mind?" and during a gig. Definitely her Alanis-Morissette-circa-Jagged-Little-Pill moment with an extra serving or two of sarcasm.Â
Now, I might be interpreting it literally (though seen through jade-colored glasses). For all we know it's not about a human; it could be about a job that was nice at first but became a new, made-just-for-you level of hell soon enough. It could be a hobby or passion that ate at you more than it filled that hole in your humanity. It could be the voices in your head that won't let you sleep at night. The important part here is that in the end, you chose freedom from whatever it is. Cue hair-flip-then-walk-out move right after the last two lines.
I'm still very much partial to the abovementioned mental image of Armi though. Sorry.Â
Kulang
What's with this string of songs about abusive relationships? Fine, "Kulang" might be about the self-doubts that plague you every waking moment. That hyper-critical voice in your head that nags you that you're far from perfect. This is not the song you'd like to play in your mental jukebox after getting fired from the job or dumped by someone.
Tadhana
Much has been said about this song. Arguably, it's the only bright spot in the whole album. And gods know this song never fails to tug at whatever's left of my heartstrings.Â
Night Drops
Thinking about it, Night Drops and Turn It Well are good bookends for this album. Very much Yin and Yang yet both deal with waiting, lack of time and I don't know, neglect? It depends on who's listening I guess.
