“Flyin’” Brian Pillman Jr. [August 10th, 2017]

Every so often, I’ll get a notification on my Facebook page that makes me smile from ear to ear: “Brian Pillman likes your status.” Of course, it’s not the long-haired madman that graced my television screen as a child, but rather his only son, Brian Pillman Jr., who’s begun training to be a professional wrester. The 23-year old has thus far underwent tutelage from Cody Hawk, who of course trained Dean Ambrose, before traveling to Ohio Valley Wrestling to further his training. In just a few short weeks, Brian will be traveling to Calgary… Alberta, Canada to continue his training (much like his father before him) with Lance Storm, a graduate of the Hart Family Dungeon just as the late Pillman was, too.

Brian has begun a fundraiser to aid him in his journey to becoming a star. There are details on that here. Brian is also having a meet and greet party before he ships off to Calgary that’s being held in Covington, Kentucky, with a $5 door fee, free food, and prizes. For someone like myself who grew up believing in professional wrestling because of the unhinged Brian Pillman, it does my heart good to see his son carrying on his legacy. Brian has been attending several indie shows and has snapped photos with several wrestlers, even using his influence to shed a spotlight on some. For someone who didn’t get to know his father as well as he deserved to, Brian has such a love for his dad, often posting photos and posing in pictures wearing his tees. There’s one photo of him rocking his dad’s Hollywood Blonds vest that I thought was amazing. I’m looking forward to seeing Brian Jr. flourish and become the athlete that’s in his blood. A “Legacy Of Lunacy” will continue under the Pillman regime!
