Sickening. | Chapter Four
Chapter 1| Chapter 2 |Chapter 3| Chapter 4
Sebastian wakes up at 12:23. He slowly opens his eyes to the same dark, damp, windowless room he always does and quickly shifts his eyes to his alarm clock. “Augh.. fuck. Did I oversleep..?”
he rolls onto his back and rubs his eyes “I definitely overslept. probably shouldn't have stayed up so late.” He pulls out his phone to check the time and gets out of bed. Then tossing his phone onto the bed yawning. “Well, I should probably get some pants on at least… even though it's hot as fuck in here. wish my mom would just get me a fan, AC, anything. Maru gets all the nice shit, huh.” he looks around the room, noticing the peeling wallpaper, scuffed, chipped wood, and stained floors.
“Welp, whatever.” he grabs some black sweatpants from his clean laundry hamper and slips them on before walking over to his computer. He grabs the farmer's phone from his desk drawer, plugs the charger into his PC, then the phone. “Looks like I'll just sit here and wait for this stupid thing to charge.”
About 15 minutes pass, Sebastian gets bored of staring at the ceiling, Then he realizes something that changes everything. “.. Now that I think about it. I have full access to add anything I want onto this phone, I could definitely install something to watch who she talks to.” Sebastian chuckles “Might just ditch the whole creepy notes thing and start texting..” he looks over at the empty notebook next to him “... but.. Maybe both would be more efficient. Gives me a reason to walk up to the house at night. Instead of just watching the lights slowly turn off one by one every night.” he puts his hands to his face and throws his head back letting out an agitated groan. The phone screen then slowly lights up as it regains battery and Sebastian quickly picks it up. “Welp.. Here goes what will probably be hours of my life.”
Sebastian waits for the phone to connect to his computer and gets to work. After about an hour he completes setting up a connection for the phone to the nearest data tower. He pushes his chair back, stands up, and stretches. “..mmghhh.. Augh. My back fuckin hurts. I wonder what the time is, a nice smoke break wouldn't be too bad right now.” Sebastian walks over to his bed and picks up his phone to check the time. It's now 2:04, and he has 2 missed texts from Sam.
“I really don’t wanna see Sam and Abi.. Eh,” he shrugs “I'll just let them show up.” he tosses his phone back on the bed, walking to his desk and sitting down again, picking up the phone once more
“time to get back to work with getting her a new number.. Also maybe installing some spyware to watch her. I can’t risk Sam going behind my back and stealing her.” he installs a file from his computer to her phone and a pop up window appears across the screen, he lets out a small scoff. “That was much easier than I thought it'd be. Took me so long to look for the damn file you would think installing it wouldn't be as simple as a few clicks.” he taps on the window opening a screen with a few small questions, One is what the purpose of the file is. Sebastian clicks on all of the above and speeds through the rest. “ugh.. Now I just need to set up the number from my computer and then the phone is done.”
he hears a knock at the door startling him, he quickly shoves the phone into his desk drawer and shuts off his PC. “Who is it??” Sam's voice emerges from behind the door. “It’s me and Abi! Let us in dork!” Sebastian's eyebrows furrow when he hears Sam. “Give me a second.” Sebastian grabs a black tank top and slips it on before walking to the door to unlock it “come in.”
Sam and abi walk in taking a seat on opposite ends of the couch as Sebastian flops down into his bed “What did you guys need? I have important shit to do, you know.”
“Oh yeah seb? Like what.” sam teases
“Well believe it or not, i dont wanna have y/n’s phone at my house for days. I’d rather get it done by tonight.” he gives Sam an irritated glare “I thought not answering would show I don't want company.”
Sam looks at Sebastian miffed “so sorry i wanted my friends to all hangout together. You know you can still work on her phone while we’re here… We can just stay away from your computer if you're worried we’ll see her personal information or something.”
Sebastian gets back out of bed sticking his own phone in his pocket. “Whatever.”
He walks back over to his desk and sits down grabbing and turning on everything he needs
“So like what even is your plan to get the phone back to y/n” sam says
“I’m gonna take it up there myself once I finish. No point in getting others to do my small jobs.” Sebastian says back while mindlessly clicking and typing away.
“Oh, thought you said your mom was gonna do it.” A few minutes pass and Sam gets up and starts checking out random things in Sebastian's room “hey abi, you ever actually look at the sticky notes on sebs wall..? They’re kind of odd lmao”
“Oh? How so?” abi responds with confusion
“Well a lot of them seem to be talking about some girl, the way he describes-” Sam quickly gets cut off by Sebastian “do you mind? I know they’re out in the open but its not like its information i want the whole fucking world to know.” he looks at sam with anger
“My bad dude…” Sam looks over to Abi. “we should just leave abi. I don't think he wants us here right now.”
“I’ll talk to you guys later.” Sebastian waves them out
Sam and Abi leave. Sebastian continues to work on the phone for the next two hours.
“Finally it's done. I can smoke and then drop it off. Perfect.” He grabs his phone to check the time. It's only 5:29. His brows furrow at the time as he shoves his phone back in his pocket “well fuck its still pretty early, mom will probably call me up for dinner soon. I'll just get ready anyway.” he slips on a light gray jacket and some socks, he grabs the farmer's phone, a joint off his desk, and a lighter. He exits his room grabbing his shoes off the stairs
“SEBASTIAN DINNE- oh you’re right there. Dinners done sweetie!” Robin calls from the sink in front of him.
“Thanks mom.” He sits down at the dining table lacing up his shoes, one foot propped up on the chair. “I noticed maru and demtrius haven't been here much. What's up with that?”
“Busy with work. Marus has been needed much more at the clinic with the farmer living here now, and Demetrius is studying the cave at her house.” Robin places the food down on the table
“Oh.” Sebastian grabs his fork staring down at his food “so how late does he stay..?”
“Only until about seven, why hun?” robin looks over at sebastian “You two really don’t get along I didn't think you'd mind”
“O-oh i don’t!” he clears his throat “Just found it strange he would stay out so late.. I guess.. I don't know. Just nevermind..” He starts eating his dinner. Taking a while to pass time. He pushes his chair back with his feet getting up. “I’ll be back later. Love you mom.” he shouts out to robin, he then exits out the front door.
he walks out towards the lake, He spots the farmer from a distance and bolts behind a tree “Holy shit.. What is she doing here.” he peaks from behind the tree to double check that its her “fuck, Shes not meant to be here right now. I can't go over there if she is.. She’ll know it was me last night.” His eyes dart around looking for a way to sneak off before she can see him, he spots an opening between two trees and treads carefully around the sticks off onto the path that leads to the bathhouse.
“Fuck me..” He grabs a pack of camel crush silvers from his jacket pocket, takes one out of the pack, holding it in his mouth to light it. “Am I really such a freak I can't stand the thought of her knowing who I am..” He pauses for a moment. “Not yet..” he takes a long drag from his cigarette leaning again the support beam in front of the bath house “god, I'm so unbelievably fucked if i keep up with this bullshit.” he flicks ash onto the ground. “You’d think I would take action at this point. She's lived here since february.” He lets out a deep sigh. “You can't keep doing this nonsense Sebastian..” He flicks his cigarette butt onto the ground and walks back towards the lake. He spots the farmer once more. She's now exiting the mines to head home. He stays stagnant for a split moment before deciding to approach her. Before he does he zips his jacket up, covering the pack of cigarettes in his pocket walking into the creeping darkness of the twilight. He appears in front of the farmer “hey. I finished getting you a connection on your phone.” y/n jumps, startled as Sebastian's tall figure stops her abruptly.
“Fuck!” She puts her hand up to her chest. “You just scared the living shit out of me.”
He takes the phone out of his pocket, handing it out to her “take it. I don't want to be here longer than I have to.” he hisses
y/n takes the phone from his hand. “You know, you could definitely be a lot nicer.”
he rolls his eyes shoving his hand into his pocket “Just be happy i even did anything for you, okay?”
she scoffs “You know, I really don't get what I ever did to you for you to constantly give me an attitude, and act as if im the worst person in the world, but thanks for fixing my phone. I’ll be heading home now. she puts the phone in her pocket walking off towards the dimly lit path towards her home.
He waits a moment before slowly trailing behind her, lifting his hood to cover his appearance in the night. He stays a few feet behind her the entire way to her house stopping at the of the river watching her unlock her front door from the warmly lit up porch. Well Sebastian. You better not fuck this up. He thought to himself, letting out a long sigh. He stays watching her house waiting for all the lights to turn off. He approaches her home taking deliberate steps across the bridge, avoiding the sticks as he approaches the overgrown front of the farmers house. “Here I go , I guess." whispering to himself as he opens the mailbox slipping in a note he wrote weeks earlier. [5]
He returns home in the early hours of the next morning, after watching the farmers house all night he finds himself restless. “Lets hope and pray I didn't just screw my whole plan up.”
Hello angel… You know, you make it quite easy to learn your schedule and patterns. I really don't understand how you barely notice when I'm there. Maybe you're just a little carefree, I'd start watching your back, my bunny. Ps. I wouldn't take too much liking to Sam, it’d be a shame if something happened to him. - ??? [5]
