The boy did it. He awakened Reshiram.... he walks forward slowly, for once not saying anything. The pokemon moves it's great great head to get a better look at N, snorting steam from it's nostrils. There was an intense silence, but it's clear the two of them are communicating... telepathically? Long moments pass before it's head is lowered further and N's palm rests on it perfectly. Like it was almost meant to be. Ghetsis really had molded him into the perfect hero....
It was said that the Dragons would test the strength, the will of their Hero in combat. It had been a concern, but Ghetsis ignored it, knowing better inside himself.
The Truth he had given N was a peaceful one. His refusal to fight it, his desire for companionship, âpartnership,â for being chosen not to mean being used but walking hand in handâŚthat would prove his Truth.
To Ghetsis, PokĂŠmon could not speak. They could not communicate in a way humans could relate to or understand, but he made an exception in some cases, the âTao Trioâ being among them. As Dragons based on human concepts of Truth and Ideals, they were, though revered as gods, clearly meant to be under the command of humans, and perhaps could hope to understand them better than most other PokĂŠmon.
So he had to resist the urge to clack his cane against the ground to discourage Nâs ânonsense,â speaking to PokĂŠmon and so onâŚno, this communication was important. He needed to âspeakâ to Reshiram, show it the Truth heâd been taught and that he believed inâbecause he had nothing else, because he knew nothing else, because it was all heâd ever had to believe and consider. It was a sort of âfalse truth,â but it still worked for Reshiram. Truthfully, Ghetsis found it pathetic.
He watched in silence as his son communed with the one heâd raised him to be withâan odd sort of arranged marriage, heâd gone out of his way to raise the perfect Hero for the Dragon of Truth.
And he smiled as Reshiram lowered its head, allowed itself to be pet. Submit. Came under Nâs control.
And what was Nâs was Ghetsisâs to command.
But for now, congratulations were in order. Quietly, he approached the boy and the Dragon, admiring the beautiful, flaming creature and feeling drawn to itâto N, even more suddenly, feeling a sort of satisfaction, wholeness come over him the closer he got. He assumed it was some manner of power being granted to him by Reshiram, though he didnât want to think he was so affected by a PokĂŠmon, still none the wiser to his own connection. His arm achedâthis was the beast that robbed him of it, because it wouldnât choose himâbut he held down the anger, the envy, and simply stood behind his son in quiet reverence.
âCongratulations, Lord N.â He breathed.  âMy Hero King. My son.â
N didnât like being touched. This he knew. Though he wanted to hold him close, pet him, kiss his head, feel this living success that he made against his chest, he didnât, merely resting a hand lightly on his shoulder and offering him a warm smile with proud eye and no pressure for him to stay under the contact.
âLord N, youâve done it.â Heâd done it. Heâd raised this boy, created this life and molded this mindâthis was his success, and Natural Harmonia Gropius was simply the tool heâd used to achieve that success.  âHavenât you? Reshiram has acknowledged you. As the Hero of Truth. Just as I said it wouldâjust as I said you were, as you always had been.
âThank you, Natural. I cannot begin to express my pride in youânothing I say could ever be enough.â Things were in motion. Years and years and years of raising this little inhuman monster were paying off right now. Years of work, of planning, of hiding his own truth. âAnd know that the world will thank you in timeâeven if it cries today as a bond itâs known for its life will be severed, the people, the PokĂŠmon will see our Truth. And theyâll be free. Theyâll come to know you as their savior, if they donât look to you as such already.
âToday is the first day of a liberated Unova.â Today was the first day of Ghetsisâs rule of Unova.  âFrom here on, youâll spread the truth to the world. Unova will listen. The world will listen. And the world will be peacefulâdistinctâperfect.â Today was the day Ghetsis took his rightful place as God-King of this world, the day Reshiramâs âholyâ fire would burn any in his opposition to ashes, and burn their ashes for good measure.
âWeâre not done, Lord Nâthis is only the prelude, the beginning. Weâve made progress, but now we truly start. Unova must know of your Return, Hero of Truth. This is where this story truly starts.â A small squeeze before pulling his hand away. Heâd already taught him the plan.  âLead the way, My Lord. Iâll be right behind you, as I have been your servant and remain that so long as youâll have me. And Iâll be here as your Father, no matter what.â
