elena managed to convince herself, upon securing the research position, that the strange, and often sadistic actions of this place must be for some noble cause. that the institution she’s servicing is on the cutting edge of genetic research, and that the findings here have the potential to transform mankind for the better, to do something good. that in the end, the end justifies the means, and so forth. but the more time she has spent here, the less she is able to stomach it. the less she is able to block out the noise. so she dissents, and that dissent leads her here, to a punishment. a public demonstration. elena has been arguing for months that their method of testing their subjects thus far has been inhumane, so her superiors, assuming failure, have granted her the chance to complete an alternative, more “humane” means of data collection: deciding to toss her into the pen in her lab coat, alone. if she is so sure that their treatment of this “man” is amoral, she should set out to prove it.
