Did you see Sooha's album cover we uploaded on X?! It would be so amazing if a real physical album came out!! It's just a game concept though! 🥺 Sooha's song, which voice actor Lee Ju-seung poured his heart into singing, will be uploaded to YouTube to match the release date of Sooha's Route (August 10th)! What kind of song did Sooha sing in Lost Singer...! Please look forward to it!

The development of Season 2, Sooha Route is almost finished!!!!!!! Once we smash all the bugs popping up and polish any awkward translations!!!! We can finally deliver Sooha's Route to you all!!!!! We've been working on it with every ounce of our strength after our day jobs!!! I can't wait for our Finders to play Sooha's route and be happy 🥺

On July 17th!! The Steam Early Access version was released! To be honest, we never really thought we'd actually be able to release a Steam version... But thanks to the love and wishes of our Finders!!!!!! We made it happen 🥺

Now, we will work hard to add Sooha's Route and push toward the official release!!!! Other character routes will be added as DLC, and the price will increase slightly upon official release! *If you've already purchased the Early Access version, please don't worry! It will automatically update to the full release at no extra cost!!

🛠️What are we up to these days?

Right now, alongside squashing bugs in Sooha's route, we are simultaneously working on the upcoming Seojun & Yuchae common route, Seojun's Route, Yuchae's Route, Bom's Route, and the Final Chapter!! Hahaha. So... it's a bit of a bummer that we haven't been as active on social media lately 😭😭😭 We were worried you might feel a bit left out 🥺🥺

Our idea of a huge success is just breaking even. :) After we shared this little trick, someone told us it was actually a great way to scare ghosts away—and said they'd start using it themselves too. 😂

🎉 BIC Preliminary Selection

We applied to the Busan Indie Connect Festival (BIC) again this year! Last year we weren't selected at all, but this year we at least made the waiting list. 😭

Unfortunately, since exhibiting at BIC is an incredibly valuable opportunity, it's very rare for waiting list spots to open up.

So to be honest... we're not expecting our number to come up this time either. 😭😭 We're really sorry... It's such a shame!!

Hopefully, before we die, we'll get the chance to be selected at least once. 🥹

A Few Words from the Planner

Thank you for taking the time to read these monthly development updates.

Last year and the year before, we participated in PlayX4. Since we're not attending this year, it feels a little bittersweet.

Back in July last year, we even held a fan-sign event and invited Jiwon and Soo-ha cosplayers at Comic World!

Those memories still mean so much to us. To every Finder who attended our events, thank you sincerely. Because of you, we were able to create precious memories, and we hope those memories were just as meaningful for you.

During the final week of May, I focused on writing the Final Chapter.

Every day I wrote roughly 10,000 English characters, going through draft after draft, revision after revision, until completion.

Of course, after cutting, refining, and polishing, much less remains in the final version.

Many of these scenarios were originally planned over three years ago.

Seeing them finally become real scripts, line by line, filled me with emotions that are difficult to describe.

These aren't characters created by someone else.

They're characters that we created, raised, and developed entirely within NTale from beginning to end.

That's why they mean so much to us.

Right now, these stories are still undeveloped film waiting to be processed.

We can't wait to finish the work and finally show them to all of you. (I know I've probably said that a hundred times already. 😭)

Even after the Final Chapter, we still have countless ideas planned, including After Endings and DLC content.

To us, the Final Chapter is not the end—it is simply the path leading to those future stories.

To be honest, I'm the kind of person who waits until a drama is completely finished before starting it!

So this year, we'll continue focusing entirely on development.

Just as we always have, we'll do our very best.

My goal is to focus heavily on the scenario throughout May and complete all voice recordings by June!! We’ll do my best to balance this with my main job so We stay healthy and avoid any delays!

Other Stories

My niece painted a tote bag for Earth Day (April 22nd) at school, and she gave it to me as a gift, saying she thought of Moonlight Dialogue while making it! 💓 She hasn't played the whole game yet, but I guess the loading screen left a big impression on her, haha. It was so cute that I just had to share it with you all.

I can’t believe it’s already end of March… it doesn’t feel real!!

✨ Jiwon Route Released

The Jiwon Route has finally been released!

In our previous roadmap, we mentioned a planned release in April, but thanks to the incredible effort of our team, we were able to release it earlier on March 10.

We’re truly grateful to our team members for their hard work—everyone did an amazing job. Thank you so much, always!!

🎨 About the Title Image

During our title image planning discussions, we wanted to go beyond simply creating something eye-catching. Our goal was to design an image that reveals deeper meaning after completing the game—something that makes you think, “Ah… so that’s what it meant.”

We hoped that the excitement you feel at the beginning would carry through to the very end, leaving a lasting impression even after finishing the story.

✍️ A Note from the PD

It’s truly an honor to share these updates with you once a month. Even though these posts may feel small and insignificant to me, the thought that they might bring joy to someone makes me incredibly grateful.

So today… I brought a few small (and maybe slightly unnecessary 😆) stories to share!

1. The “Final Final Final… Final Final Final Final Build”

Thinking_Scapy(Developer): By any chance, is the script not finished yet? Since there was no '(editing in progress)' in the document title, I thought the revisions were done and applied it to the sheet. Ah, it wasn’t under revision—it was still being written.

Crying Character(Me): I thought I had finished it too, but when I checked again, something strange showed up.

For some reason, things that don’t stand out in the script files suddenly become obvious during build testing… So we end up going through what feels like the final of the final of the final build… over and over again (x21 😂)

I’m always a bit clumsy, so I really appreciate our developer for being so patient with me 🙇🏻‍♀️ And to all our Finders who kindly overlook bugs—thank you so much as well!!

Bug reports and typo reports are always welcome, so please feel free to let us know anytime!

2. Scary episode during QA

There was a moment during QA where Jiwon was supposed to exit the scene… but he just kept standing there. It was kinda terrifying 😭 The bug has been fixed now, so no worries!

When writing the scenario, we first build a large narrative framework, then we write while imagining how these characters—who feel very alive to us—would act within it.

3. Thesis Presentation about Moonlight Dialogue

As I mentioned before, I wrote my graduate thesis about our game—and I recently presented it!

I’m continuing to work hard in hopes that this research can contribute to improving our game.

4. Still Working Hard…!

Is it okay to share something a bit weak like this? 😆 Recently, my wrist has been hurting again, so I’ve been working while wearing a wrist brace.

I’m really grateful for modern technology—this brace helps a lot! Thanks to it, I’ve been able to keep working without too much trouble 😊

The scenario for Sooha’s route is about 80% complete. (Actually, I thought it was 100%, but as I play through the game myself, I keep seeing so many things to improve... Why does it feel like there's always more to polish? We plan to fix that remaining 20% while working on the build!)

Work on backgrounds, CGs, standing sprites, and illustrations is also underway! Also, please note that there will be a change in the release order of the character routes. We'll post a separate official announcement, but I wanted to give you a heads-up here in the dev log! :)

The screen reader is an important accessibility feature designed so that visually impaired players can also enjoy our game. Jiwon Ending – Progress Update

The main character of the next season—Jiwon!

Our game is designed so that the story can be fully understood only after playing all characters’ scenarios. To experience the narrative flow as intended, we recommend playing the seasons in the order they are released.

If time and budget allow, we truly hope to release all seasons within next year… 😢 It’s a heartfelt wish shared by everyone on our team.

This is about how long the Jiwon route is! (This count doesn’t include the Finding the Client system hehe.)

If we include that too… it might go over 310,000 characters 😭

Is that… too much?

* Finding the Client is one of the systems locked inside the Computer! To explain it simply: you reply to “inquirers” who show interest in the counseling center, and turn them into real “clients.” It’s an important feature that can affect the ending! hehe

Also, Season 1’s common route was already over 270,000 characters…!! 😂 We tried really hard to write it in a way that won’t feel tiring to read, so we hope you enjoy it! 💛

Recording sessions that will breathe even more life into the characters are scheduled for January! Some parts of Soo-ha’s route will also be recorded during this time!!

The first draft of Soo-ha’s scenario is currently in progress as well. It’s been a while since our last recording session, so we’re feeling really excited—and a little nervous too haha 😊🎧

And!!!!! There’s one more thing we want to show you!!!! That is…!!!! A moving Jiwon!!! 🎉✨

Jiwon will be animated in the Relax Room! We’re also currently working on Soo-ha, Bom, Yu-chae, and Seo-jun as well hehe 😊

That said, the interior resources for Yu-chae and Seo-jun may take a bit more time to complete, so we kindly ask for your patience just a little longer 🥺

The Moonlight Dialogue OST(Moonlight Counseling Center) has been released on various music streaming platforms! Even before we officially announced it, so many Finders already listened to it—and we were truly, deeply moved… 😭💛

From here on, this is a slightly long and completely unnecessary story from the Game designer!

1. The First Time in My Life… Hair Loss Happened!

It was September… right when the release date was just around the corner…

I was relaxing, watching TV, trying to rest a little.

Then suddenly— the back of my head started to feel really itchy!

So I casually scratched it… and something felt off.

It felt strangely… empty. Like whoosh—

Where there should’ve been hair, I felt something soft and squishy instead.

Skin. Just… skin. 😭

With that expression on my face, I jumped up immediately… and ran to check the mirror…!!

And this is what I saw.

Hmm……… So this is what a scalp feels like when it’s soft…

Just a few days ago, getting my hair cut, the stylist didn’t say a single thing…

So where did all my hair go…? I was so shocked that I genuinely wondered if I should go to the hospital or something…

I’d heard that hair loss clinics are expensive. And at that point, every bit of money we had was already spent on development(voice actors, team wages, music, programming, all kinds of expenses…).

With the release right around the corner, I had no time—and no money— so I just decided to endure it… haha.

And then…!!

It grew this big, seriously…!!!! 😂😭 To all the Finders reading this: if you ever notice hair loss, please—go see a doctor. I really recommend it…

Honestly, losing my hair made me incredibly sad. Truly… empty. I kept thinking, “What if it all falls out?” and “Wow… I must have been really, really stressed to the point of losing my hair.”

But… I didn’t really have the luxury to slow down back then.

Thankfully, things look like this now!

That means it’s healing properly… right?! haha 😅 And if any of you Finders out there are fellow hair-loss comrades… I’d be very grateful if you could share your best tips with me! 🙏💛

Aside from art and programming, I’m handling almost everything else needed for the game — scenario planning, art planning, programming design, QA, writing, customer support, SNS management, grant documents, external meetings, outsourcing coordination, business management, and industry communication… and more.

I’ve been developing the game while balancing my day job and graduate school, and finally!! I’ve completed my graduation thesis! 🎓✨

I wrote it based on our game, too!

Since I haven’t officially graduated yet, I kindly ask for your understanding that I can’t share the thesis publicly at the moment. If the time comes when I’m able to share it with you, Finders, I’ll let you know right away!!!!
