he took the joint offered. it was a nice moment to just sit and wind down. grabbing the lighter from his pocket, he held the join gentle between his fingers and brought it to his lips, lighting the end until it lit, which he took a long, healthy breath in. he only remembered her name because of the name tag he saw on multiple occasions. they didnât speak much, but she was nice, and pretty. in this moment, having her around was a breath of fresh air compared to what he had dealt with.  letting out the thick smoke past his lips, he was feeling better.   â itâs exhausting. this isnât really my scene to get drunk so i am most certainly sober. but itâs not really fun to be around a bunch of drunk people when youâre not. â  itâs just kind of sad. everyoneâs messy and thirsty and itâs a real moment where he just shakes his head. he could be sleeping right now.   â thank you for this, by the way, i really needed it. â  the sounds from the party were distant but still there. if he could be further, he would be.   â have i ever told you my name ? â  have they ever introduced themselves to each other? he gave her a questioning look, mostly towards himself for being extremely socially unable to execute a simple introduction when they first met. heâs known to do that.
Liv pursed her lips at his question, humming to herself. She couldnât, for the life of her, remember his name. âYeah, I donât think so. Do you know mine?â She asked, âItâs Olivia, by the way.. Or Liv, I guess. You can call me whatever you want.. Liv or, uh.. Olivia..â Her voice trailed off, once again making a fool out of herself in front of this guy. She couldnât quite put her finger on it, but something about him made her edgy, which was definitely not something that happened often. âAnd yeah, no worries. I knew Iâd need to end the night with a smoke, or two,â She explained, taking a long draw as she stared back over to the party. âHopefully if you go back over peopleâll be a little more manageable.. Because youâll be stoned and all,â The girl chuckled. The party was getting less and less appealing the longer she sat at the edge of the beach with a person she barely knew, just enjoying the silence.Â
