My yuri romance visual novel Serre finally has a store page!!! It's cute!!! It's about girls!!! It has a bug!!! please wishlist so I know you wanna play it 🐝🐝🐝
A visual novel about a girl and an alien drinking tea and falling in love!
the action this person took is bad because it's directly harmful and exploits and leverages their social capital "also they're cringe" not what I said "adults who like cartoons are always shitty" no they aren't "their artistic tastes reflect their bad morals" I don't believe that is the case "typical tenderqueer" I honestly just think you're being homophobic "mid 30s polyamorous neurospicy kinky asexual picrew icon fanfic writer" do you even care about the bad thing they did or are you just using this as an excuse to make fun of people you don't like
For the love of God. I desperately wish to stop having to defend people who annoy me.

WHEN DID THEY DIVORCE??????
I'm 100% not disputing Maddy Thorson's claim that she didn't figure out she was trans until after she'd finished working on Celeste (DLC excluded), and the greater part of the game works at least as well as an allegory for living with mental illness as it does an allegory for gender transition. However, that specific repeated motif where Badeline keeps insisting – condescendingly at first, then with increasing desperation – that Madeline is "not a mountain climber", as though "being a mountain climber" is some sort of fundamental identity... well, I'd love to know where Thorson thought she was going with that part at the time that she wrote it, if it wasn't intended to be a gender thing.
I once wrote a story in which one character’s backstory is that he was stolen from birth, and eventually adopted on an alien planet to parents who loved him but didn’t understand him. The aliens on that planet looked a lot like humans, but they stayed much shorter as adults.
So the character grows up initially fitting in with his peers and not suspecting he’s any different from them, but then as he hits puberty and keeps getting taller, he gets increasingly alienated(hah) from his peers as it becomes obvious that there is something Wrong with him.
There was a detailed description about how after puberty, he physically couldn’t fit inside his house with his family anymore, and no stores sold clothes that were comfortable for him, and he could no longer play sports with his peers. He felt awkward and uncomfortable in his own body, and was constantly literally “outside the window, looking in” at everyone else (because he physically couldn’t fit inside regular buildings) so all of his socializing felt weird and disjointed.
Even after meeting other humans, he still wasn’t initially able to recognize himself in them, because his time on the alien planet had shifted his appearance in small but meaningful ways that kept him from realizing that he was one of them.
The other main characters were his long-lost brothers (who I named after my own brothers) who were overjoyed to discover they have a brother they didn’t know about (and I named the adopted character a masculine version of my birth name).
Somehow, with all that, I didn’t figure out that I was a boy for another six years.
So when I was in high school and absolutely did not know I was trans yet I was part of a after school theater Thing for teenagers where the group would put together their own ideas for short skits which would be about, by and large, social issue shit we cared about. This being statistically one of the most granola boondock rural areas available in the west coast, actually worked and was very fun and was very well attended. My older sister was part of the first performing years of it, I came along 8 years later (shes 8 years older then me).
This is all context to explain that when I came along I realized if I wrote a whole skit script myself it could just Be Performed. In retrospect: Balsy, teen me. All that to say at some point one of those years I wrote
Romeo and Juliet, But Gay, except as most theater groups did we had a ratio of like 3 boys to about 10 girls (myself at the time included) so it then became Romeo and Juliet But About Lesbians.
It also had to be 15 minutes long, and they don't die at the end because I Was A Gay Teenager And Don't Want Them To'. Fair nuff.
And because I wrote it I got to play Tybalt, who in my version found out about what was going on and loyalty stayed by his cousin which is how the ending tragedy got avoided. I've always been a sucker for AU's generated by tweaking which characters know what when, I suppose.
Anyways. So you might have noticed this whole re-write changed some Character Genders. So was I playing Girl Tybalt.
no.
I was, despite writing it myself, playing a male Tybalt. For. Story(?) reasons. Of some kind. And since I was doing that.
Obviously. It made sense to order a binder. From, since this was way before very friendly and trustworthy and fairly affordable binder brands in the states were a thing, Korea. For what I think at the time was 60 fucking dollars. And mind you this is Aughts 60$, and I grew up poor as fucking SHIT and that money definitely represented fucking hours of literal farm work.
........For theater. To play Tybalt.
This would have been Multiple Years before I figured out I was a man.
