The Answering Call

Thanks for tagging me, @littleblackraincloudofcourse ! I’m way behind on my tag games, but I’m trying to get caught up this week as I have a few days off work.❤️

1) Favourite flower - So many beautiful flowers to choose from! Bluebells and buttercups hold a special place in my heart, though.

2) Favourite season - Spring. It used to be autumn, but spring has overtaken it as my favourite these days.

3) Favourite soup - I’m afraid I’m going to be really boring and say cream of chicken or chicken noodle. Although, there’s a pub near me that makes an absolutely delicious vegetable soup.

4) Favourite anime - I don’t know, it’s not a genre I’m hugely interested in. I like several of the Studio Ghibli films, but there seems to be some debate online as to whether they count as ‘anime’ or not!

5) Favourite sport - Not a huge sports fan either, I’m afraid. I grew up with the snooker on the telly as my whole family are big fans of it, and it’s one I could watch if I had to, but I wouldn’t necessarily choose to put it on myself. I can watch football too, but I don’t really care about it.

6) Favourite ship - The Mary Celeste. Ha, see what I did there? I’ve got jokes! Okay, I’ll stop now. The honest answer is so, so many. To name but a few, Leo Hölzer x Adam Schürk from Tatort Saarbrücken (I’m sorry, I refuse to call them Hörk), Benton Fraser x Ray Vecchio from Due South, Marvey (Suits), Rinch (Person of Interest), Ichabbie (Sleepy Hollow), Charah (Hudson & Rex), and Nikki Alexander x Jack Hodgins from Silent Witness. There are so many more, but that’s enough to be going on with.

7) Favourite holiday - Christmas, I guess.

8) Favourite soft drink - Cola, be it Coke or Pepsi, I don’t mind (except Diet Coke, bleugh!🤢), and that includes Cherry Coke, but I love Dr. Pepper too.

9) Favourite sea creature - I was going to say axolotls, but I think they’re freshwater creatures, so I’ll say the beluga whale. They’re kind of cute.

10) Favourite number - I quite like 23, for some reason. Don’t ask me why because I have no idea.

Okay, so only one was bang on the money, but I love the Lund and Wallander ones, lol!

I was tagged by the lovely @ethereallstarr to play this Pinterest game where you post a colour, quote, character, hobby, accessory, lyric and flower you find there, but I’m not actually on Pinterest so I just googled ‘Pinterest + colour’, ‘+ quote’, etc, and this is what I came up with. I started a new post because the last one was getting rather long.

Last song - Say Why by Zach Bryan. I saw him in concert for the second time last month and it’s kind of been the summer of Zach ever since. (She says, like he wasn’t already her current number one artist before the summer.)

Favourite colour - Red, especially the deep, dark shades like burgundy.

Currently watching - Not a great deal right now. I’ve been mainly spending my spare time reading. I’ve been watching a few old Silent Witness episodes, but that’s about it. It’s been fun watching the progression of Nikki and Jack’s relationship right from the start again. I still miss Leo, though. 😭 And I know we’ve got losing Thomas to come as well. 😭

Currently reading - You Have a Friend in 10A by Maggie Shipstead. It’s a short story collection and I only have two more stories left to read. Her full-length novel Great Circle was already on my TBR list, but when I saw the book of short stories at the library I thought I’d check it out to get a taste of her writing. I’ve enjoyed some of the stories more than others, but so far there have been none I’ve hated.

Currently working on - Making my way through my library loans and surviving this heat.

Current obsession - I don’t really have one at the moment, sorry.

Tea or coffee - Tea. I hate coffee.

Last Google search - Harry Lloyd was in a show my mum and uncle were watching (I, Jack Wright), and I wanted to double check that he actually is a descendant of Charles Dickens and that I wasn’t making it up. (I wasn’t. He’s his great-great-great grandson.)
