okay so I finished the first draft of my novel a few days ago and now I'm editing!!!

I hit 30,000 words last night!! I'm nine chapters away from finishing my novel and my word count goal was 50,000-60,000 but I don't think I'll hit that in the first draft, but I have a bunch to add in in editing, so maybe that will lead to me getting there!

it is completely outlined, my dudes. I repeat, it is COMPLETELY outlined. brb gonna go scream !! I feel very accomplished

my story is almost completely {roughly} outlined and I'm exhausted and I've had a really not so great day, but at least that's something. small victories are still victories, right?

man, I'm not saying my novel sucks, but I'm editing the first 20 pages for a contest and I've changed my tensing like 3 times somehow in like three pages and there's so much red and I really didn't think some of my plotting through. my whole 20 pages are red. my deadline is in like 10 days. pray for me.

hey friends! so today, I hit 20,000 words on my novel !! which is a huge milestone, but also not nearly as far as I wanted to be by now but here's the thing: that's okay. I am not where I wish I was, but I'm still working. I'm making progress where I can between work and school, so I'm doing a good job. So here's my daily reminder to you that whether you're where you thought you'd be or far more "behind" than you thought you'd be, that's okay. You're still doing great. Keep working hard, y'all

what is one of the most heartbreaking things that human weakness and guardedness can bring about? the fear of honesty and showing that you care about someone can extend so far that they die not knowing that they were cared for at all. a person can care and never show it, under the guise of protecting themselves and staying in control. once you admit you care for a person, you lose a little bit of control over the situation. if you deny them, you can maintain the illusion of control, but death can quickly destroy this and then you'll be left with so many words to say and no time left to say them to the person you have lost. this is not necessarily for romantic relationships and I'm putting it here because it is an important theme of my story and I don't wanna forget it. deep moment over, here's some insight into my novel. peace out, y'all

hello friends! i began this year with the usual list of things I wish to accomplish {though I strove to make them more realistic and writing focused this year.} one on my list was to write ten poems. it wasn’t an ambitious goal, but I was hoping to begin writing poetry after falling in love with Rhiannon mcgavin’s poetry and, of course, Shakespeare. I had never written poetry before December of 2016, but in December I wrote a handful of poems and this year {so far} I've written roughly 17, with some works in progress. this isn't to boast on what I've done, but it's to tell you guys that you should try new things and set small goals because amazing things might happen if you do. my poems aren't stellar, but they're improving and I'm growing as a writer. progress, guys. work for it and look for it.

I wrote a little over 1,000 words for my novel today! that may not seem like much {and it's not, really} but I haven't had any time to write for nearly a month because life has been so crazy busy and I feel like I can breathe cause I took the time to write :))

TODAY WAS THE DAY!!! I HIT 10K!!!
