The new Archon quest in Genshin Impact got me Theorizing…
Based on the new Archon Quest in Genshin…
So after playing the new Archon quest in genshin.... I realized some things aside from Dainsleif’s past...
Let’s start off with the twins:
- The twin that has sided with the abyss mentions that you should continue your journey and that they’ll be waiting for you. They said that once you finish your journey you’ll realize something.
This means that when they woke up before you, or after they got split from you, the twin also went to the seven nations looking for you, but realized something important that made them side with the abyss... and be very high ranking at that.
That also means that before the twin decided to side with the abyss, they also must have met Dainsleif and traveled with him for a short time just like how we the player did for some quests. Dainsleif even mentions how he traveled with another traveler in his previous quest.
Next is the title screen when you open up the game...
Those bridges are the remains of Khaenri’ah.
In one of the clips previewing this storyline, Lumine is seen running across bridges with fireballs and chaos in the setting behind her. At closer inspection, those are the same bridges!
Therefore you entering the game is just like how Lumine and Aether entered Teyvat, from leaving Khaenri’ah behind.
I feel like this quest explains a lot about Kaeya... and here’s why…
Dainsleif mentions that Khaenri’ah was destroyed 500 years ago... and the twin that’s with the abyss mentions that all the people of Khaenri’ah were transformed into the Abyss monsters that are seen in the world (such as abyss mages).
If you look closely at Kaeya’s attacks and his Ult, they may look very similar to you....
They are almost identical to the Cryo Abyss Mage’s attacks!
- Kaeya’s attacks being almost identical to the Cryo Abyss Mage
- Upon closer observation.... Kaeya and Dainsleif have the exact same eye design, just in different colors... Meaning that Kaeya may also potentially be from Khaenri’ah... or even related to Dainsleif...
- Both Kaeya and Dainsleif both have a hatred towards the Abyss and the Archons.
The last one may leave you with questions... but I can explain.
At the beginning of the game, you have a quest involving Kaeya where you go into a domain filled with Abyss. It’s the same quest where Diluc shows up and Kaeya kind of mocks him a bit. Plus, Kaeya never states in any dialogue that he actually believes in or is faithful to the Anemo Archon. This is not the only Incident though...
Remember the Windblume Festival? Kaeya asked Venti for “Love Poem” classes and wrote his “poem” in Hilichurlian, and claimed it said “I Love You.”
Venti is confirmed to understand a bit of Hilichurlian, and you can see his facial expression change from curiosity to more serious and even worried when he initially reads Kaeya’s “poem.” And Kaeya knew that no one else understands Hilichurlian in the room at the time, so he was not afraid to let Venti read it out loud.
The Hilichurlian was: “Mi Muhe Ye”
Which translates to: “I triumph over you.”
Which makes this letter a threat directed towards Venti/Barbatos/Anemo Archon, especially since now his Gnosis is gone.
So... Kaeya and Dainsleif share similar views... but the main theory that’s stuck in my head is...
I believe Kaeya is from Khaenri’ah and before he could have been fully turned into a Cryo Abyss Mage, he was able to flee or escape somehow... Maybe, potentially, with Dainsleif’s help… This would explain why he has an eyepatch. He either lost his eye in the God’s attack on Khaenri’ah, or it shows symbolism, in either the color or maybe the pupil shape, that he is half transformed into a Cryo Abyss Mage. This process of being forced to become an abyss monster could be a significant enough time for someone to obtain a Vision as well, and it landed on Cryo since that’s where he was heading anyway. It also doesn’t say if the transformation into an Abyss monster was instant, or if it took some time. Meaning that there’s a chance Kaeya escaped and received his vision mid-transformation and managed to fight his way out and escape. If this is his past, it would make sense that he and Dainsleif share similar views. The Gods killed his original family and friends and turned them into monsters in Khaenri’ah.
