He really didn’t want to bother them.  Really didn’t want to. What if Monarch was the one that opened the door? Jared was sure he’d really hate having a hero’s alter ego at his doorstep.

When Sheila answered however; he let a slight sigh of relief- quickly turning into a cough.

“M’sorry.. I know it’s late but-”

His free arm went to his head. He was getting very lightheaded. “-but I uh..”

After clearing his throat, he pulled the mask back down over his nose and mouth.

“I’m actually done for today, honestly. Some of the others said they could guard my section for now.’  

He had to think about it. Did he really want to go with someone while impaired?

With a sick groan, he finally was done emptying his stomach into the bushes for the moment and looked up at the blonde; keeping his hand on the tree beside him to steady himself.
