finished watching the bear last night and i genuinely don’t know what to do with myself now 😭

this show has somehow become one of the most beautiful things i’ve ever watched. it’s about food, yes, but it’s mostly about grief and depression and family trauma and love and healing and all the messy complicated things that come with being a person. there were so many moments that felt painfully real in ways i wasn’t expecting.

i still haven’t watched Gary yet, so i’m not even fully done, but i’m already sitting here feeling weirdly emotional about it all. i’m not ready for season 5 to be the last season. at all.

but i’m also incredibly grateful that i got to experience this show in the first place. what an absolute masterpiece.

the only consistent watchers of the bear are the sydcarmy shippers so it would be genuinely stupid of FX to not make them canon 😭😭 or at least IMPLIED canon

so the carmy writing a book theory. i hope we see it? maybe, maybe not BUT an integral part of every kitchen to the point that ive literally forgotten to even point this out in metas-

every kitchen has its own recipe book. we all have a binder of recipes - some large houses publish their recipes and tweak it to make it home cook/average cook friendly, but every single restaurant does have a log of its recipes. so carmy and even syd have already literally written that book

it’s how other cooks know how to make a restaurant’s dishes. so yes when carmy spent the day after friends and family cooking by himself? literally speaking he would have then gone into the office, put it into whatever doc program they use and then printed it out so that everyone else could follow his recipes

so if it’s something we get to see fleshed out or not in season 5 maybe take comfort in knowing that yes @sonoranbumblebee is right and he has written a cookbook in some capacity
