Smukt dansk design til sejlere og andet godtfolk
nots by heckmann er et rÄt unisex-smykke, designet og produceret i Danmark, udfÞrt i SterlingsÞlv 925, diamanter å 0,03 ct. og stÊrk DyneemaŸ-trÄd.
100 % dansk design
Selve sÞlvleddet bliver hÄndlavet hos guldsmed Mads Heindorf i Gothersgade i KÞbenhavn, og armbÄndet som sÞlvleddet sidder pÄ, er hÄndknyttet hos Riggerne i Svendborg, der er specialister i rigging af sejlbÄde.
Vibeke Heckmann uddyber: âSnoren, som er brugt til nots by heckmann-smykket er knyttet med det sĂ„kaldte âdiamant-knobâ. Et fast og stĂŠrkt stopperknob, som ogsĂ„ bruges i sejlerverdenen. Vi fĂ„r hĂ„ndknyttet armbĂ„ndet hos de professionelle riggere i Svendborg, som stĂ„r inde for bĂ„de holdbarhed og kvalitet.â
Og koblingen til sejlerverden er bestemt ikke tilfĂŠldig. Hele inspirationen til designet kom nemlig fra âsĂžens folkâ.
Inspireret af havet
Smykket er designet af Vibekes datter, branddesigner Emilie Heckmann, og inspirationen kom bl.a. fra de gamle sĂžfolks fortĂŠllinger om savn og usikkerhed pĂ„ de store have. Vibeke Heckmann fortsĂŠtter:Â
âTilbage i tiden bar sĂžfolkene altid en speciel armlĂŠnke om hĂ„ndleddet, som de brugte til at sikre sig selv med, nĂ„r de klatrede i masterne. Et simpelt vĂŠrktĂžj, som endte med ogsĂ„ at blive et symbol pĂ„ familien pĂ„ land. Selvom de var langt vĂŠk hjemmefra, og alene pĂ„ havet, vidste de altid, de var elsket.â
Et rolig Skandinavisk look
Designet er bevist holdt i en rolig Skandinavisk stil. BĂ„de for at kunne passe pĂ„ bĂ„de kvinde- og mandehĂ„ndled, men ogsĂ„ for at matche den typisk Skandinaviske mentalitet. Det er et armbĂ„nd i den halvdyre ende, fordi kvaliteten er i top og al produktionen foregĂ„r i Danmark, men det er ikke et armbĂ„nd, der skriger af âpral og diamanterâ, som Vibeke siger det:Â
âSmykket er eksklusivt bĂ„de pĂ„ materialer, produktion og kvalitet, men samtidig passer det til vores lidt tilbagelĂŠnede Skandinaviske stil. Det afspejler ogsĂ„ den ro, man kun kan finde pĂ„ og ved havet, og det kan vĂŠre med til at minde os om, at stoppe op engang i mellem. Alting gĂ„r ufatteligt hurtigt i vores tid, men det hele behĂžver ikke gĂ„ sĂ„ stĂŠrkt. Med mindre man er Jena & Katjaâ indskyder Vibeke âfor dem skal det virkelig gerne gĂ„ stĂŠrkt!â, smiler hun og sender en tanke til to af sine ambassadĂžrer (Jena & Katja 49erFX), der lige nu trĂŠner op til OL i Rio.
At vĂŠre âpĂ„â og alligevel alene
Vibeke Heckmann arbejder som erhvervsrĂ„dgiver og coach for store danske virksomheder og private klienter: âPĂ„ mange mĂ„der er de mennesker, som lever af at vĂŠre âpĂ„â hele tiden og af konstant at skulle prĂŠstere, lige sĂ„ alene som sĂžmanden pĂ„ det store hav. Og uanset hvem man er, og hvad man arbejder med, er det en stor styrke, at vide, at der er opbakning, forstĂ„else og kĂŠrlighed hjemmefra. Det er blandt andet det, armbĂ„ndet symboliserer.â

Bag det lidt kryptiske navn nots gemmer ordene nĂŠrvĂŠr, omsorg, taknemmelighed og styrke sig. Det er hjĂžrnestenene i Vibeke Heckmanns arbejde, og efter 25 Ă„r som rĂ„dgiver, coach, konsulent og mentor stĂ„r det helt klart for hende, at det er lige prĂŠcis de fire egenskaber, vi skal forsĂžge at have med os. âHar vi de fire egenskaber med i rygsĂŠkken, sĂ„ kan vi klare alt, hvad livet mĂ„tte byde osâ, afslutter hun.

Fakta om DyneemaÂź-snorenâš
ArmbĂ„ndet er knyttet af DyneemaÂź-snor. En ekstremt stĂŠrk fiber, der har egenskaber som en stĂ„lwire, men selvfĂžlgelig kun med en brĂžkdel af vĂŠgten. Snoren har en fin og letskinnende farve og en omkreds pĂ„ 2,5 mm.Â
DynaOneÂź-snoren bestĂ„r af 12-flettet 100 % DyneemaÂź SK78-fibre med en Geothane-coating, der gĂžr den slidstĂŠrk og UV-bestandig. Snoren kan flyde pĂ„ vand og har en brudstyrke pĂ„ hele 677 kg. Vibeke Heckmann uddyber: âDet er en ekstremt stĂŠrk snor, kendt og brugt i sejlerverden med en brudstyrke, som du forhĂ„bentlig aldrig fĂ„r brug for at teste.â

Beautiful Danish design for sailors and other good people
nots by heckmann is a raw unisex bracelet, designed and produced in Denmark, made in Sterling Silver 925, diamonds ĂĄ 0.03 ct. and strong DyneemaÂź thread.
100% Danish design
The silver link is handmade by goldsmith Mads Heindorf in central Copenhagen, and the bracelet that the silver link sits on, is hand-knotted by the professional riggers âRiggerneâ in Svendborg on the Danish island Fyn, who are specialists in rigging of sailboats.
Vibeke Heckmann explains, "The line that is used for nots by heckmann are closed with the so-called 'diamond-knot', a strong and firm stopper knot commonly used in the sailing world. The professional Danish riggers, âRiggerneâ, tie the bracelets and vouch for both durability and quality.â
And the strong connection to the world of sailors is no coincidence â actually, the whole inspiration for the design came from sailors.
Inspired by the sea
Vibekesâ daughter, brand designer Emilie Heckmann, designed the bracelet and the inspiration came from the old sailors on the harbour â and their tales of loss and insecurity out on the open seas. Vibeke Heckmann continues, "Back in the days, sailors would wear a special chain, wound around their wrist, which they used to secure themselves while climbing the masts. A simple tool that also became a symbol of the connection with their families on land. Even when they were far from home and alone on the sea, they always knew that they were loved and appreciated.â
A calm Scandinavian look
The design is deliberately kept in a calm Scandinavian style â in order to fit both male and female wrists, but also to match the typical Scandinavian mentality. This is a bracelet in the somewhat expensive end, because the quality is top notch and all production takes place in Denmark. But it's not a bracelet that screams, "look at me and my shiny diamonds", to put it in Vibekesâ words.Â
She elaborates, "nots by heckmann is exclusive â materials, production and quality is the best, but nots still fits with the laid back Scandinavian style. It also reflects the tranquillity and peace that can only be found on or near the sea, and it can help to remind us to take a little break once in a while. Everything is moving at an incomprehensible speed in our time, but life it self doesnât have to move so fast. Unless of course you're Jena & Katja" Vibeke adds ... "for them speed is absolutely important!â she smiles and sends a warm thought to two of her ambassadors, Jena & Katja 49erFX, who are currently in training camp for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Being "on" and yet alone
Vibeke Heckmann works as a business consultant and coach for large Danish companies and private clients, "In many ways, the people who make a living out of being âon' all the time and constantly having to perform are just as alone as the sailor on the great big seas. And no matter who you are and what you are working with, it is a great strength to know that there is support, understanding and love from home. Thatâs a big part of what the bracelet symbolizes."

The slightly cryptic name ânotsâ is made from the Danish words for presence, care, gratitude and strength â the cornerstones of Vibeke Heckmannâs work. After 25 years working as an advisor, coach, consultant and mentor itâs evident to her that these are the values we should strive for, "If we have presence, care, gratitude and strength in our backpacks â we can handle everything life may throw at us", she says.

nots by heckmann can be purchased at notsbyheckmann.dk, the silver link is available in plain silver and oxidized silver, with 4 diamonds in either black, white, blue or pink. The hand-knotted DyneemaÂź thread bracelet is available in light grey and black. Prices start from DKK 4.795,-
All silver links are Sterling silver 925, certified by the Danish Assay Office, and all diamonds have been purchased from legitimate, conflict free sources in compliance with UN resolutions.

Facts about DyneemaÂź thread
The bracelet is made of DyneemaÂź thread â an extremely strong fibre with qualities similar to wire rope at just a fraction of the weight. The line has a fine and shiny colour and a diameter of 2,5mm. The DynaOneÂź line is made of 12-strand braid of 100% DyneemaÂź SK78 fibres which is durable and UV resistant thanks to a Geothane coating. The line can float on water and has an impressive 677kg-breaking load.
Vibeke Heckmann explains, "Itâs a very robust line, known and used in the sailing world, with an impressive strength â one that you will hopefully never need to test.â
