If there was one thing Douglass hated, it was not knowing. More than that, the idea that someone else had access to that information and wasn’t sharing it with him just pissed him off. So, with a little jimmy of a lock in the middle of the night, Douglass broke into Mr. McCoy laboratory. Douglass had been in there once before during the battle and he was intrigued beyond belief at the wealth of research and files that he saw just waiting to be explored. How could a pansy Xavier man like McCoy have his hands on such extraordinary information and still be so…ordinary? Minus the blue thing and the smart thing. Then again, anyone that Douglass disagreed with Douglass could be categorized as ordinary and unintelligent, but Douglass was having trouble believing that last adjective about Hank McCoy.

“Then supervise me,” Douglass retorted. He’d been looking at MRIs and CT scans done on mutants at the school, focusing in on himself and other mutants whose powers were intelligence or telepathy based. “How can you keep all this stuff down here locked up? Don’t you ever want to put this to good use besides filling yourself up?”

“You’re too egotistical for a boy your age. I am but collecting data. These files are not for any eyes, and you do not have the clearance to be given access down here or to read these. In other words, you can’t be trusted with the information. It could endanger you or other students if you knew all the secrets of mutantology, and I couldn’t bear the burden of you having witnessed the countless testing that has been done on mutants.” Hank placed the file on his desk and motioned to the door, planning to lock his office and re-organize after the mess the boy had made once he was alone again.
