Sarcasm runs in the family

Melody smiled. “Thanks, I appreciate that, really.” As Chris sorted out their order she flicked through gallery of photos clearly torturing herself before slamming it face down. Picking at the large fries in the centre she sighed, “Maybe I’m just being selfish, I mean its me just our little circle for so long. I’m scared of being replaced.” 

"I believe those were made in the 14th or 15th century for my family ."

Rico looked to the man who acknowledged his china. It was old and uniquely beautiful but it prompted him to take it. The glass of wine was crystal but for a moment Ricardo forgot where he was and waved his hand making wine into water. The trick was most famed for going the other way but the prince did it his way. It seemed as if he didn't want the cake and Ricardo waved his hand and the cake disappeared in a blue flame and was taken back to the cake container. Ricardo being so focused on the china had forgotten that he was talking to a stranger and once again used his powers. Turning the prince looked to the man sitting and was brought back to reality.

Chris looked up from the china and saw him working his magic. His eyebrows shot up. A witch, of course. As if he, a Halliwell boy, would ever meet anyone else. Seemed like the city was only filled with magical beings lately. He could not really remember the last time he talked to someone without magical background. 

Claire offered him a bright smile upon his kind words. “I am truly thankful for you letting me stay. It have been amazing living here with you…and of course cupcake and bailey. Can’t forget them,” a low chuckle fell from her lips. It was like they had become a small family, one of which she harbored feelings for. Perhaps one day he might know how she felt, but not today sadly.

The blonde had nearly finished eating as she took another bite. Shaking her head. “Chris…you really need to eat. You shouldn’t skip meals. I mean I don’t mean to sound motherly and all that. But you’re right. Moods definitely affect eating habits, though at least try to eat,” she surmised. Pleasantly surprised by his suggestion. “Sure. Sounds like it could be fun,” she smiled warmly. “Yeah. I’m sure they’d love it too. I wouldn’t mind a bit of fresh air either. I’ll clean up and change into something more suitable for hiking.” 

Chris chuckled lowly but still rolled his eyes. “You do sound like my mother. Bless her. I know I have to, believe me when it comes to things I should do, I can write you a list.I am working on bettering myself. That is enough work for one person alone, I’m a stubborn bastard.” He laughed softly. “Still, thank you for worrying about me and having my health in mind.”

When she agreed to his idea, Chris smiled brightly. “Great. No, leave the cleaning to me, you already cooked and set everything up. It’s my turn now, then I will also change and pack some things and we can go. Bailey and Cup love hikes and being outside, there is so much to explore for them.” Chris took another bite, almost finished with his meal. 

I’m currently in the process of moving and won’t have an internet connection for the next couple of days. All replies I owe are queued, if I receive anything while I’m gone I will get to it when I’m back. Askbox is open and hungry if you want to send something in.

I didn’t want a traditional Halliwell name. 

I mean, let’s face it, the tradition of “P” names is great but how many good boy names with P do you know? I like Potter but not for my son, to be honest. To me, that tradition works best with girl names, as proudly presented by my family.

Our family has not brought up boys for several years before Wyatt was born which in return means the name choices are limited, even if you go for the husbands. And male versions of female names? No, thank you! I mean, I’m aware Piper can be also a boy name but come on. Really?

Which brings me to another point. I absolutely despise the idea of naming my child after a parent, grandparent, or sibling. I love my family, they’re awesome people but nope. Calling him Christopher Jr.? It would irk me forever (No shade to uncle Henry or Junor, love them to death). Just my personal opinion. 

Besides, I am named after dad’s father. That is great. Wyatt is named after dad and aunt Paige. If I would have wanted to go for that, what would have come out of that? Matthew? Nah, again, no tea, no shade, but not for my son. Calling him Wyatt or Leo was also not an option for the aforementioned reasons. 

I wanted to have an unique name cause it’s time for something new every now and then. Don’t you think? 

I like the name Sky. The sky is the limit and I want to raise my son like that. With the knowledge he can achieve anything he sets his mind to. My goal as a dad is to be that kind of person to my child, I needed when I was younger. 

Looking towards Chris she realized he was right. That a time frame was probably pointless because even if she left she could always visit again. “I erm don’t usually talk about my feelings because people tend to invalidate them or I end up hurting the people around me. I also just suck at it. If I talk about it then it gives an opportunity for someone else I care about to walk away from me and I honestly don’t know if I can take that, from him.” 

Melody got out of the car and started walking across the parking lot. Holding onto her locket she began to fiddle with it for comfort. Catching herself do it she took a breath, flicking those emotions off like a switch behind her eyes. “The question is large or regular fries?” 

“I get the part of people not caring about your feelings. I feel like that all the time. However, I do care about your feelings”, Chris assured her. He didn’t think it would happen the way she anticipated but he got her worries.

Rico spoke as he made his way into the formal dining room and into the kitchen. He had wanted to cook some stir fry but hadn't taken the meat out in time or he would have had that cooking in the background but only had a red velvet cake with buttercream icing. Taking the cake and placing it on the table he went back and brought out dishes that he felt were common but were fine china. The plates had a fleur-de-lis surrounding the sides with a ornate W on some and an M on others as they were apart of the set to mark his family line.

" would you like a glass of wine as well?"

“Ah, okay.” Chris gave an acknowledging look. “Yet, I would consider small something else”, he muttered but didn’t want to be rude. He watched his host put everything together even though Chris really didn’t want to cause any trouble.

Claire nodded her head. “You’re right. And who you are today is a personI really like and enjoy spending time with.” she offered reassuringly. The blonde hands reached to rub the back of her neck. “Thank you,” she replied as her cheeks colored. A low chuckle fell from her lips. “I mean it. I mean…,” her hands gestured up and down his form. “You look really…really great,” she added as her tongue darted out to wet her lips. What she wouldn’t give, just for a kiss. Her feelings had been growing for quite some time now, though she hid it well. Not today evidently.

She hummed blissfully as she took a few more bits. To her she loved it. A bright grin graced across her lips. “Thanks Chris. About one of the only things, but I’ll take it. Mmm. I’m not that fussy, but it’s good that you’re particular about what you put in your body.” she added softly. “What are your plans for today?” she queried.

Chris watched her. It had become one of his favorite past times to watch Claire when she talked, when she walked or did things. It may sound creepy but he was smitten by her and since she was around, it was way more fun. It had been the right decision to let her stay. “I immensely enjoy spending time with you as well. Thank you.” His eyes landed on her lips when her tongue came out and Chris bit his own lip. What he would give to kiss her. 

To avert his attention, Chris picked up eating again. He really enjoyed it. “I have days where I can eat a lot and all kinds of stuff. Healthy or not. Then I have days when I barely eat and am not that hungry. It depends on my mood, I guess. How I feel, how I slept.” He tilted his head and considered. “Want to go for a hike? There are beautiful paths around. We could take the dogs with us.”

It suits my image of the lanky Chris who just has to grow into his body amid all other problems during his teenage years so much better. 

Therefore, I also changed my faceclaim for my sidemuse Sky since he is Chris’ son and looks like his father when he was younger. See the About page and scroll down there if you want to learn a bit more about Sky (or ask me if you have any questions, I will answer them happily)

Melody turned on the radio singing along as she drove. Once they arrived her phone buzzed she ignored it placing it back in her pocket with a sigh. “When do you think she’s going back? You think he remembers we had plans this weekend or is he gonna blow me off….If he does I’ll hit you up for a movie while I eat my feelings, of course after I kick his ass.”

“I’m sorry that you had to go through that. Though I suppose it does help you become thicker skinned and ignore, not to say it doesn’t hurt and effect you mind. It’s good that you managed to seek help. More than likely most be afraid or ashamed and try and deal with it on their own,” Claire said sadly. “I completely agree. Some people could a bin bag if they were feeling it,” a low chuckle fell from her lips. Her blue orbs widened in surprise “Really you think that?” with her mouth parted. “I think you look hot…sexy even,” as she cheeks colored admitting that to her crush was one thing entirely.

“It’s great that she taught to you. As you can see my skills are sadly lacking. I mean I don’t mind it, but everything does taste better fresh. Thank you,” she beamed as she took a bite, and moaned at the taste. Sometimes there’s nothing better than simplicity.  

“It’s alright, you know? It made me who I am today, had a part in my development. I really think it doesn’t matter to dwell too much on it. Sure, it would have been easier not to experience some things but hey. That’s life.” Chris nodded and gave her a warm smile. Her surprise was not something he had expected. To him, it was so easy to see she was stunning. How could she not see this? “I do, yeah. And thank you, coming from you this means a lot.” Chris bit his lip shyly.

Chris took a bite and he had to admit, it was absolutely delicious. He hummed in delight. “This is amazing, really. Incredibly tasty,” he praised. “Fresh food is great, yes. There are not many things I enjoy more when they’re not fresh.”

“That works, I could use a shake and french fries right now. Its on you though because I’m the friend in need.” She teased.
