I never said I was Prince Charming

“Really? Well… I guess not everyone sees the world the way you do.” She shrugged. She wasn’t sure why he seemed to look past her general aura of ‘bitch’ that she gave off… but well she was glad for it. It was always a good day when she didn’t have to punch someone in the nose. “Not busy, wouldn’t have bothered speaking at all if I was.” She had an older and a younger brother. Despite preferring to address a problem, she also had mastered ignoring people. She just usually didn’t care to.

“I’ve been told that before, actually.” Grayson chuckled, giving her a small, sheepish smile. He was never really sure if it was a compliment or if people were remarking on his oddness. He rather liked it when she said it though. Vitani seemed like she wouldn’t hide if she was making a negative comment. “That’s good. I should work on being as upfront as you. Sometimes I have conversations with people for hours that I don’t really want to talk to just because I don’t say so.”

“Best way to be, saves wasting time ah?” Zero said with a smirk as his hand went closer to Bryce’s crotch. “Yeah, so your just one lift away from having the night of your life.” Zero said before he licked his lips slowly.

“Let’s just hope you are as good as you say you are.” He replied, standing up, making sure to brush his crotch against the male’s hand. “I’m Bryce, by the way.” He smirked, picking up his jacket off the back of his chair. “Let’s go.”

Zero could not help but to smirk a little at Bryce’s response, before placing a hand on Bryce’s thigh muscle firmly. “How about we change that then?” Zero said in a teasing manner as his hand begun stroking Bryce’s thigh.

“Aren’t you very forward?” Bryce smirked, looking down at the hand on his thigh. “But I can’t say that I’m not intrigued. Are you staying in this hotel?” He looked back at the man’s face before scanning his body.

"Desmond shall we stay in on this lazy Sunday?" She asked him.

Kala was perched on Desmond’s lap as they relaxed outside on a blanket to enjoy the warm weather. He had told her about his mom and she understood why he didn’t want to see her.

Zero and Bryce

Bryce’s eyes widened slightly before turning to the man on his side and raising an eyebrow. “No, I can’t say that I have.”

Vitani tilted her head to the side in an almost cat-like manner listening to him. His words were… kind. A manner that was rarely extended to her. Which, was largely a part of her… prickly nature. She was used to being treated badly, people could tell she was a bit of an oddball. And outsider if you will. And she was fairly certain no one had ever sincerely told her it was a pleasure to meet her. She actually let a smile touch her lips when she looked at him and nodded. “It’s alright… It’s… kinda nice I guess. I don’t get a lotta compliments.” She admitted. Okay so maybe she was a bit of a sucker for those who seemed genune in their kindness. Her mother wouldn’t like that. But, eh- if she made a mistake she’d remedy it with a nice hard knuckle sandwich.

Grayson’s eyes crinkled as he smiled when the corner of her lips started to twitch into a smile. He got the feeling that it wasn’t something she did readily and he felt pretty special that he had gotten her to do it. “Really? That’s amazing to me.” He knew he probably sounded pathetic, and that women didn’t need to hear how beautiful they were as if it was the only good thing about them, but that didn’t mean they shouldn’t hear it. “I hope I didn’t interrupt you or anything when I was staring. I don’t mean to disturb you if you are busy.”

“Well, aren’t you a charmer,” she shot him a smile. “I’m Jemma, by the way.”

“I try.” He returned her smile, giving her a small shrug. “Skylar. Nice to meet you, Jemma.”

“Des, I don’t think you get what I mean. This is forever. We are in each others lives for ever now. It’s not about serious things right now. There isn’t much to discuss right now, but those conversations are going to come as time comes. We are going to have to make decisions together for the rest of our lives. What doctor we go to. What crib to pick out. What we name it. How we feed it. Where it goes to school. What activities it does. And then we’re going to watch it make mistakes and watch it grow and one day maybe he or she will get married. And then maybe have their own kids. We’ll be grandparents. We.” Kayla sighed softly. “Des, we maybe not be in love or be getting married, but we’re in this together and we’ll always be. I am going to know you better than anyone else will, because I have my entire life to spend taking care of a child with you.” Kayla rolled her eyes. “It’s sappy and gross and uncomfortable, but its true and beautiful. We created something..and I don’t regret it.”

Desmond sighed softly, scratching his head behind his left ear. Everything she was saying was leaving him slightly overwhelmed, but what choice did he have. He wasn’t going to be an absentee father. Because of his own rocky relationship with his father, all he had ever wanted was to someday be a good father. This just wasn’t the exact way he had planned it. “I don’t regret it either.” He said finally, after a few seconds of silence. He smiled over at her, placing his hand on hers and giving it a small squeeze before letting go and moving it back to his side. “Is there anything you need? Are you hungry or anything?”

Quinn licked some dry rub off her thumb and looked at the boy next to her, the meat falling apart between her fingers like good pork should. “I ate gator off a stick I roasted over a pit fire,” she told him snarkily, “A little sun warmed dry rub ain’t gunna kill me or you. Shoot now I gotta share just so you understand the love I have for Mama Lou’s southern hospitality,” she held the ziplock out to him. “Go on, only a pinch now I ain’t a grocery store you don’t get the whole thing.”

Skylar made a face as she watched her lick her fingers. He knew that for some guys this would have totally done it for them, but apparently, he wasn’t one of those guys. “You ate gator?” He raised a brow, amused. He didn’t know the girl sitting next to him that well, but she would surely be entertaining. He leaned over to look in the bag, before taking a piece of meat out and popping it into his mouth. Chewing it, he shrugged, looking over at her. “Not bad.”

“So you were starin’ at me?” She tilted her head to the side, this time there was almost a playful mocking to her tone. It wasn’t friendly, but it certainly wasn’t the annoyance that had tainted her voice the first time she spoke to him. “Or are you just saying I’m an exception?” She smirked, her lips tugging up in a smirk. She looked at his hand for a moment before she realized what he wanted- he was so polite it was… not what she was used to. She shook his hand, her grip was firm but it was far from as tough and rough as her demeanor may have suggested. “I’m Vitani.”

Grayson blushed, unsure if it was from her words or her tone. “I mean, you are certainly an exception. In a good way.” He was sure she had hundreds of people coming up to her everyday to tell her how beautiful she was, she probably didn’t want to hear it. He smiled, a small crooked smile, when she actually took his hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Vitani. I am sorry again about the staring. I just found it hard to look away. I didn’t mean to be rude,”

“First of all, I have no idea what you are talking about. And second, that doesn’t even sound sanitary.” Skylar laughed, making a face. “Are you really going to eat that? Should I have like an emt on stand by?”

“Right.” Desmond rolled his eyes with a sigh. Maybe this co parenting thing with Kayla was going to be more difficult then he thought. He couldn’t remember a time before this were they were actually talking, he didn’t know anything about her,  besides the fact that he seemed to constantly annoy her. “What serious things would you like to discuss?”

“Hey, I got you…”

Vitani’s expression softened. She was used to scowls or argumentative retorts… but an apology was the last thing she expected someone to give her. “It’s alright, but you should speak up, you could give a girl a complex.” She didn’t quite let him know how surprise she was at the actual apology… but her tone wasn’t quite so hostile.

Grayson let out a small sigh of relief when her expression softened. He really hadn’t meant to upset her. “I’ll try to remember that for next time. Not that I really think there will be another time when I stare at a girl. Er, sorry...” He was being awkward and he knew it. Giving her a little shrug, he held out his hand. “I’m Grayson, by the way.”

“Sorry.” Grayson murmured, furrowing his brow as he lowered his gaze. He didn’t know what to say without it sounding incredibly cheesy. He hadn’t even realized he was staring, but who could blame him. He’d never seen a girl like her before, she was incredibly beautiful. The type you’d see in a magazine, not in real life. “Just thought I knew you from somewhere, or something. My apologies.”
