ughhhhhh i’m sorry but can radqueers as a community pleasseee stop using AGAB terms as a stand in for saying what’s in your pants, or what gender you identified as before realizing you were trans or whatever?? please??? asking as a cisintersex person.

like i’m tired of seeing people say “im AFAB, which means i have a vagina!” NO IT DOESNT!!!! those two things have nothing in common! i have a vagina and i was NEVER ASSIGNED FEMALE. “i’m AMAB so that means i have a penis!” NO IT DOES NOT!!!!

Intersex people exist! Intersex people are who those terms were made by and for!!! PLEASE i am BEGGING YOU from the BOTTOM OF MY HEART… stop using AGAB to mean gender or sex. AGAB is a one time event that doesn’t even always actually mean anything!!! AGAB is not important! AGAB does not determine your identity!!!! it can definitely influence your identity, but being AFAB doesn’t mean you can’t be transfem, for example. And people genuinely think it means that!!!! it does not!! it never has!!

please share this if you know any radqueers that don’t know this. or anyone at all who doesn’t know this. pls don’t water down these terms and create a new binary. that’s all ur doing pls stop

Aros, especially loveless, aplatonic, and lovequeer aros deserve to have their perception of the world respected by other people. We should not have our ideals questioned and told they are straight up wrong or untrue. No one can speak for you on your own experiences and the language that feels good to you.

I am bodily Caucasian American. To my knowledge, I am white as white can come. I never met my father and my mother can't remember enough about him to tell me anything so there's an entire part of myself I don't know so I am white.

But I was raised almost exclusively in predominantly Hispanic communities until I reached high school. Every year, my family packed me up and moved me to a new part of the city and every time, I was one of the only white kids there. I grew up surrounded by Hispanic communities and Hispanic culture, primarily Mexican and El Salvadoran. I never stayed anywhere long enough to grow close and be invited in but I grew up having a love for the community and the safety it made me feel. Because it did. It made me feel safe and welcome. Gave me a sense of belonging, even if I was only on the outskirts.

As I grew older, I grew a curiosity about my own culture and where I came from only to find.. nothing. Half answers. My mother told me we were Cajun and Celtic, but could never quite say what region, and by now I was in my sophomore year in a new city where I was now part of a majority but I couldn't help but begin to feel more and more isolated. Everyone had a history, knew where they'd come from and how their family was connected to the land, and I didn't have a true answer to my name.

I floated through several more years, feeling disconnected from the world and my place in it. It wasn't until I found.. all of you, the transid community, that I started feeling that connection again. Realizing that I can still be a part of the culture I grew up around, that made me feel so much love and care. Even if I may not be bodily Hispanic American, deep down I still am. And I want to thank you all. You have helped me feel comfortable seeing who I really am and accepting myself. Thank you so much <3
