Why are we acting like every facet of life needs to be child-friendly, and the adults who aren’t okay with that are doing something wrong. (I know the answers, it’s a combination of advertising dollars and moral purity rooted in bigotry but you know).

A grown adult artist making content for other adults is 100% fine? Pop stars and filmmakers and writers and artists and random people on social media making content for adults is healthy and normal and shouldn’t even be questioned.

Why should the vast majority of society no longer be able to access age appropriate content because some parents don’t want to do their job? At best people act teehee this is a naughty thing, at worst try to ban content entirely, and all because there’s a chance a child might have inattentive parents who let their kids access media they don’t approve of.

eventually he gets marlow (italian catholic, so he knows he won’t think he’s crazy) to help him, because he’s ALSO noticed that shit is off with ilya, and through marlow gets sveta involved. rose played a possessed nun in some horror flick a few years ago, and happens to have the number of an actual vatican-approved exorcist. they have a groupchat and everything. so there ARE people who think it’s weird when he and shane just vanish, when they both stop answering their phones, etc etc. so they mobilise the troops and figure out theyre at shanes insane sex condo (demons are too old to know what find my friends is) and demon is Definitely trying to enact its plan to Kill Shane And Make Ilya Watch

He finds him in the walk in cabinet and he’s got like 20 empty small sized bags of Doritos around him on the floor, just staring into the pantry chewing and Ilya goes to pick one up and Shane’s hand shoots out and he says very seriously “No those are Ilya’s”

Sleepsex with they’ve joked about before and Ilya had though might be hot but Shane is not sleep sucking his dick and having a good time. Shane is not having a good time at all. Shane appears to be trying to top an invisible person, but he’s…crying?

Ooohhh situationship era when it only happened rarely and he falls asleep for a second after they fuck and starts going through Ilya’s bag he brought, pulling out random shit and setting it around the room and in drawers like he’s unpacking.

Shane shrugs. Carefully, he folds the very tip of the page he's on, creating the tiniest dog ear Yuna has seen, before closing the comic book and setting it aside on the bedside table. He scoots closer to Yuna, slowly, carefully, as if he's worried she's going to get up and leave if he moves too fast, until eventually he's next to her, arm pressed against hers. Yuna lifts the arm and wraps it around Shane, pulling him closer, and just waits him out.

Usually she presses him for information, trying to get an answer as quick as possible, but right now she's content to just sit here. She rests her head against Shane's, hair still damp from his shower earlier, and just holds him.

Eventually, voice thick, Shane says, "People think I'm weird. Everyone in my class likes that I'm good at hockey, and that I'm fast. In gym I'm always picked first for teams, but… I don't think anyone really likes me."

Something in Yuna breaks. There's a sharp pain in her chest that goes just as quickly as it came, and the matter of fact way Shane tells her ‘I don't think anyone likes me’ brings tears to her eyes. "Oh, baby…"

"And…" Shane sniffles and wipes his nose with the back of his hand. "No one really likes snakes, either. They think they're scary and weird and boring, and I think maybe I'm weird and boring, so maybe… Maybe a snake would like me."

Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.

Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.

All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.

After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.

It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of years—far longer than settlers have been in Canada—and made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotēn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.

And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racism—like Kashechewan—because it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.

The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.

ONWA (Ontario Native Women's Association) is another great place to donate to. They have outreach vans going to motels and inns and offering food, water, resources, and cultural support to those impacted by the wildfires.

Other places to consider donating to are Mikinakoos Emergency Fund, Red Cross, True North Aid, Indigenous Climate Action. You can also send donations directly to Whitesand First Nation via e-transfer ([email protected]) and they request that you add your full name in the e-transfer comment section to receive a tax receipt.
