Mental abuse vs. physical abuse.

The thing about being mentally abused… verbally abused… is that it’s not a hit in the face. It’s not a bruise nor a cut that fades. There are no scars on your body that prove it. Only what repeats in your head over and over again. All the words he or she said. The way he or she manipulated your mind stays completely fucked for a long time. And it drives you over the edge. And people wonder why I’m so quiet, but it’s so loud in my head. It doesn’t simply stop, it’s just that painfully simple.
