Sharpe would HATE Bush though and vice versa

I’m talking class differences, power dynamics, a HR nightmare for Horse-guards and the unspoken fact they’ve known each other for thirty plus years and have been with each other through every battle/major life event for thirty years. So yeah I think they should kiss about it.

Like do I think they would be good for each other? No. Do I think they would realise that? No and that’s what’s makes it so interesting.

Like Sharpe canonically always wants what he can’t have, it has driven several book plots, and I think that if someone once went like ‘Welp u can’t have that one’ about Wellington it would spark the toxic situationship to end all toxic situationship. Sharpe’s bisexual third eye would open and everyone (Harper) would be dealing with the consequences.

Throughout all the books, with Gold being the worst offender, everything Sharpe does is for Wellingtons approval. For a nod and acknowledgement while Wellington canonically gets pissy when it’s not specifically him promoting Sharpe. Like Wellington will yell at Sharpe and then turn around and give the cold shoulder to/yell at whoever is being rude to Sharpe. He likes to keep an eye on Sharpe at all times, is kind of fascinating with the guy and I genuinely think he sleeps better at night knowing Sharpe is out there fighting for him. He also canonically thinks Sharpe is hot.
