A Little Mad.

oh man, i have a bunch.

he’s scared of thunderstorms. he knows that a man his age shouldn’t still be scared of thunderstorms, but he still gets nervous in storms. does he have any plushies? man, i hope he does. he needs something to hold when there’s a storm at night and he’s weeping in his bed.

he was so fucking touch starved as a kid. he never got any hugs from his mother or his father, so he ended up asking for hugs from his teachers and kids at school. and of course, this gave him a reputation as the “weird kid”. poor guy. he just wanted somebody to hug him. (i’m totally not projecting. this totally isn’t something that happened to me as a kid. no way josé.)

and he’s still touch starved today! he’s on his own a lot. hardly anyone comes to the motel anymore. and when he goes into town, he’s too nervous to make connections with anyone. but when he gets home, he kinda beats himself up over it. because i mean, come on, norman! that cashier smiled at you! and you didn’t even say anything back! you just had to go and ruin it, didn’t you?

the first movie (i haven’t seen any of the sequels oops) implies that he’s been in a psych ward before. fuck knows what happened to him in there. but it just taught him that you couldn’t reach out for help. reaching out for help gets you punished. you go to a therapist, you tell him everything about how you feel, you pour your heart and soul out to him, and what does it get you? six months in an underfunded loony bin! so he keeps all his emotions bottled up as much as he can. of course, he’s bound to crack at some point. and then, once again, he beats himself up over it. come on, norman. you can’t do that. men don’t do that. you aren’t supposed to cry like that, you aren’t a child.

i just. ough. i care about him so much. and i have so many thoughts about him but they all bottle down to “oumph… i care him”
