Jayce, sick with a cold and struggling hard to handle it staying at home, not able to find it in himself to even try to get to the lab. Fatigued, achy and feeling all too sorry for himself he doesn't even think to try and get a message to Viktor that he won't be in until he hears a key turn in his front door's lock and gently open and close. Whoever it is they're doing their best to keep the noise down and Jayce appreciates it with the ever growing pressure behind his eyes. He doesn't even open them to see who it is that enters his room, just assumes. Calls out to thank his mum for stopping by. But the voice that responds back is not the voice of his mother. "Do I need to assume that you're delusional right now and far more sick than previously thought or just eh, stupid sick?" Jayce shoots up, eyes snapping open wide before closing again as he groans at how the light hurts and how everything flares and falls back into the comfort of his bed. "Viktor I uh, god sorry. I thought you were mum. " He feels a dip on the side of his bed that's joined with a chuckle and the back of a cool gently carefully pressed on feverish skin. "I gathered. I'll let it slide this time round as I did stop by your mother's on the way here. She made you some soup. A lot of soup." This time it's Jayce's turn to chuckle, cracks an eye open to look at Viktor, face focused on brushing dark hair off his face. "She probably gave extra so you could have some. She keeps telling me to make sure you eat enough. Says a strong breeze would be enough to break you." With a hum Viktor gets up and wanders off to the bathroom, returning a short while later with a damp cloth that he places across Jayce's sweaty brow. He doesn't know if it's the fever talking but the gently brush of skin on skin makes his heart flutter as Viktor looks almost angelic in his hazy vision. "You don't have to do this, I don't want you getting sick." "Bold to think you could get me sick. And besides even if I did get sick I'd be able to handle it better. Alas you Pilties tend to be particularly soft." "I don't know if I should be impressed or offended by your confidence there Vik. But it's okay, I'll look after you if you do get sick." Fingers keep playing with his hair and with the cool cloth on his forehead Jayce feels sleep come for him. "Get some rest. You need it." Viktor goes to move his hand away and get up but before either of them realise what's going on Jayce's bigger hand is grasping at Viktor's and bringing it back to his hair. "Stay. Please." A sigh and a hum and those fingers are back to combing through his hair. Jayce doesn't here Viktor say he'll stay, finally letting a somewhat more comfortable sleep claim him. He doesn't see amber eyes flicker with something unsaid and uncertain, doesn't feel the briefest of butterfly kisses on his cheek. "A kiss to make it all better hmm."

Jayce who gets more and more self conscious of his eyebrow scar the more prominent he becomes as a public figure in Piltover. The more worried he becomes of how it makes him look, more concerned of how his faults are viewed by those in power he's trying to get favour from. So one day he grabs a couple of make up pencils from his mother's bag and tries them to fill in the scar, see which is the closest to a colour match. He's pretty sure most of them aren't even for eyebrows but he's only got so much he can work with. And Viktor walks into the lab and catches him. Questions what he's doing. And embarrassed to all hell and back he's just stutters out "just interested to see how I'd look without this scar". Viktor looks unconvinced, licks his thumbs and smears off the make up, hand gently cupping Jayce's face to keep him still. If he notices the growing flush creeping across the other's face he doesn't say anything. Just wipes away the make up till there's only the faintest smudge and then looks at his handy work. A satisfied hum he lets go of Jayce's face with a "that's better, most charming like this" and walks away, ready to get back to work. Jayce never worries about the scar again

I keep thinking about specifically cryptid hunters au Viktor, constantly hearing a voice calling out to him in Hexal Forest as they explore and seeing butterflies that Jayce says he can't see. Butterflies that seem to be leading him somewhere. And making posts about how out of sorts he feels when at Hexal Forest but over time feeling more off about himself when he's not at Hexal Forest. And becoming more and more dissociated with every visit as they hunt for the Herald. Until he's gone. And his sns goes quiet. Until one day it doesn't and there keeps being posts about how he doesn't know where he is, how it's cold, how he wants to go home, where's Jayce, he can't find Jayce, he really wants to be with Jayce right now. And then one post being captioned I've found you and it's a photo of Jayce running away

Hexal Woods Jayce and Viktor setting up trail cams on their hunts to try and catch real hard evidence but really they just like seeing the local ecology in action. They share the cutest or funniest photos and videos on their blog like "yea so no sightings of Mothman yet but look at this silly deer omg it's so silly why it doing that omg haha" And then when Viktor vanishes Jayce sets them up to see if he can see who could have kidnapped him (or what creature could have killed him but he won't be honest with the part of himself that believes there's a chance Viktor's dead). He's certain he can find evidence on what happened to Viktor and there's definitely odd findings. Animals that seem possessed by some form of entity that look similar to the ones Viktor draw in his journal. And then he swear he starts seeing Viktor in the footage and photos. But whenever he asks others to check they insist there's no one in the photo. He even posts the photos onto the blog and sns begging folks to say they see him, that he's not going mad, that that's Viktor in the photos/footage. Of course no one else sees him. Or they see the Herald and tell Jayce to run and leave

Thinking of Beastars jayvik au where Jayce is a carnivore very concerned about his nature and how he's perceived and very in love with Viktor who's a herbivore that looks so sweet and he's worried about him being weaker and folks will take advantage of him. But Viktor's actually a herbivore carnivore hybrid who's perhaps struggling a little too hard with his curiosity about the taste of meat and perhaps wants Jayce to go to the black market with him hmm

Sorry had the thought of Viktor watching Jayce eat something and his prey and predator instincts going haywire and he just walks away like "the sexiest thing that man could do is eat me but I dunno why I think that" and then imagine them having a scene similar to Louis' and Legoshi's where he gives up his leg for Jayce to eat and it's the most sensual intimate thing they ever do and nothing else ever compares no matter what they try ooh
