I just saw a post that said stony fans could never like the real Steve because the real Steve could never be friends with the real Tony.
I'm sorry what? I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they're an MCU fan only becasue they're the only ones I have ever seen with this take. Majority, if not almost all, of the comic readers I've met, even if they didn't like Tony or Steve, which is fair you like who you like, has never denied that these two are important to each other.
All throught out Marvel's multiverse these two are relevent and have some sort of relationship to one another, one even has them married.
Like why do you think civil war was supposed to hurt? It was a break up between these two who has been friends for decades and had so much trust between one another. A break up so bad that not only did they split their friend group, they split the entire super hero community. They were both constantly hurting each other and taking things too far but you could tell they still loved one another. Hell Marvel had a whole comic where they learn to start moving forward from civil war.
And yeah MCU definitely dropped the ball on their relationship, but they have an issue in general on that with platonic friendships outside group franchise. The friendship and trust we saw in Endgame that a lot if people called OOC? Yeah that's actually just scratching the surface of their comic relationship.
Hell even Ultimates, the one MCU is mainly based off of, where Steve actually acts like a solider from the 40's and Tony is a straight up unapologetic alcoholic with cancer these two are friends.
Guys please understand stony shippers can definitely like the real Steve and the real Tony, I mean some of them have been around longer than the MCU has.
