OKAY, HERE ARE THE VALENTINE’S CARDS FOR 2014.

I posted this on instagram but growing up I never saw a good representation of Mexican people in the media, a family member would often point out to me how much darker I was than everyone else in our family while saying I acted, “too white”. We never really talked about our heritage in our house and I just never felt proud being Mexican. I always felt ashamed and embarrassed. 

I’ve been working hard on loving myself lately but haven’t touched on the part about where I am from and seeing Valentina being proud of who she is and excited to share our culture with the world has really inspired me. 

Also it didn’t occur to me that what I was going to say to Nolan was weird. He (or anyone else for that matter) never thought it was, “uncool” to be Mexican only I did.
