Freddie never wanted his sexuality or his illness to be the focus, he wanted to make music and perform. Bohemian Rhapsody is the most respectful and yet still truthful retelling of Queen’s story and Freddie would be proud of his legacy. Queer people aren’t just that, they are people. Freddie Mercury wasn’t just a bisexual man with AIDS, he is and always will be so, so, so much more than that.
