This post will hold links to all the posts about the hints or interpretation of Sanji x Nami in other established (or semi-established) couples in One Piece, HOWEVER, I need to make a couple of things clear before any misunderstandings happen. The link to this post will be posted on all the others on the list.

1. I DO NOT DO HEADCANONS, THESE ARE JUST THOUGHTS AND ASSUMPTIONS. I do not move forward with the story believing in my own assumptions. These thoughts are just for fun and if they turn out to be true by chance then great!

2. Oda avoided the question about romance in the strawhats. As a One Piece fan, I can not agree more with him because OP is not about that, but what I believe he meant is not that “no couples will form in the strawhats” but rather “There will be no major plot-line concerning romance” kinda thing. The reason for that is the sheer amount of romantic implications between Sanji and Nami are off the charts.

3. I am well aware that all characters serve a purpose and they are not just solely created to push SaNami forward. But you can also make the case that he creates such characters to convey emotions, his view on love and romance and the deep layers of thought a character can have behind him.

While reading One Piece again and again I started to notice something. It was as if elements of Sanji and Nami are implemented into other characters who are usually couples.

There will not be direct romance between Sanji and Nami (during the story) because simply if that would happen during the story it would take away “Sanji the Cook” and “Nami the Navigator” of the Straw Hats, and that is something Oda will never do.

First, we do not know if all the strawhats will survive by the end of the series. Or if they will disband after finding the One Piece.

Second, sadly I strongly feel that One Piece might end with no couples at all.

BUT, if by chance, Oda decides at least one couple AT LEAST ONE will form? It will be Sanji and Nami. I dont know how it will be handled but it will be great.

Basically in a nutshell, I think Oda is giving us sanji x nami, but not really…

New Year’s message

Above are listed last year’s post of mine (i.e thoughts and fan made amvs but also reblogged art links from Twitter etc.) and there are still plenty of ideas and ponders and stuff waiting to be written or done.  

Where Luffy shines and convinces people to join them or to act with courage by sheer force and enthusiasm, Sanji achieves connections with people Luffy can't through calm observation and careful words.

For example: ViVi vs Gin

Sanji would have been too gentle on ViVi, his words wouldn't have reached her as effectively as Luffy's harsh reality check and punch to the face. Gin would have been angered and unfazed by Luffy's attitude but Sanji's gentleness and simple code of honor had a profound effect on him.

Usopp was incredibly hurt by Luffy's blunt attitude regarding the Merry to rhe point they fought and split up...but Sanji was able to mend that broken piece in Usopp's doubtful heart by assuring him that there are things that Usopp is able to do that none of the rest of them can. He says it so simply, with a gentleness that Luffy's overzealousness would have failed to impress on him.

Franky is recruited through force where Sanji would have simply shrugged it off and accepted that "if he doesn't want to come, he won't" and leave it at that, but Bon Clay was impressed by Sanji's simplicity more than Luffy's fervor.

I like the contrast between the two characters a LOT because when Luffy says "Without you I can't become the Pirate King" later on...we all know it's true. Because Sanji can do things that only Sanji can do.
