If you pay attention, just at the right time, in the right moment, the world turns pink, coats itself with a veil of comforting warm colours.

It’s nice. Despite it all there’s still moments of peace amidst the turmoil, it almost makes everything else tolerable.

Take a deep breath. There’s a certain coziness in melancholy, some kind of otherworldly acceptance of the impending end making haste to scuttle your experience sooner. Maybe it’s okay if things aren’t fine. Maybe it’s okay to lose, to accept defeat.

It feels so warm. This fleeting, fickle moment of despair blankets around my shoulders like the warm embrace of the morning sun or the cooling breeze under the looming moonlight.

There’s hope. Not for a better future, for things to change, but hope for a graceful end left with a beautiful final note.

The same command kept echoing over and over in the mind of Yuri. Only they could hear it, the voices of a thousand faces yet of no body and soul. The sky was wrong. The shadows crept in. What was supposed to be dead took life.

It all felt so empty. Vain. Visceral. The earth quivered beneath their feet, the sky contracted above their head. What was the point of being if being was all I could do.

Dance! Run! Jump!

They were not them. To be was to not be. They wanted out. Swept away from the chains binding them to their tormented coil, unburdened from the need of consciousness.
