Ten Praise and Worship Tracks To Run To
Poster from Etsy.
Hey!
In the New Testamant, the Apostle Paul occasionally discusses how we believers of faith should, literally, run with our lives. In every aspect, running towards what God has set before us means reaching the checkpoints He set in store for us in all areas of our lives: relationships, finance, family, career, and of course, health!
Towards that end, I made this compilation of songs that are great to run to and even better to worship with. Some of them may be completely new to you, as I've included some fantastic worship songs from different countries!
Oh My God - by David Crowder Band, a great warm up song.
Forever and a Day - by Hillsong
I Just Wanna Say - by Israel Houghton
He Is Faithful - by Bryan and Katie Torwalt
Dance - by Jesus Culture
Tambira Jehovah - by South Africa-based Joyous Celebration (one of my FAVs, so much fun, and a great dance break to rest from running! 'Tambira' means 'let's dance'.)
Trading my Sorrows (Zimbabwean version) - by Tembalami ft. Wellington Kwenda.
Freedom - Eddie James
My Life Be Like - by Grits (you prob. recognize this from the Fast and Furious soundtrack :D)
Galaxy - Owl City (did you know the Adam Young is a very vocal Christian??) This is one of my fav tracks, great tempo to run to!
Hope you enjoy it and leave any suggestions of songs you run to! :)
YOU KNOW!!!
Happy Easter girls!
Let's all keep calm, kick the foodie guilt trip to the curb and carry on!! :)
Precious girls, this is what the Bible says is in store for us today and every day:
This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Ps 118:24
Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. - Lam 3:23
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Phil 4:13

Healthy snack recipe we love. 2 Ingredients, 1 step.
As found here.
2 ways to stick to THAT 2013 resolution!
It's the time of year when gym membership, health food retail and and fitness gear sales climb up and up and up...only to topple down 3 or even 4 weeks later.
You know what, there IS a lot of slack about most people just not being able to hit that 60 or 90 day streak it takes for a new habit to kick in, (in this case, ditching the yum-yums). And let's face it, it's embarrassing when we're faced with our own failures when we simply cannot keep up with the pace we originally thought we could.
I want to share one of my snack recipes:
Chop up 2 mandarins into quarters.
Score out (or buy) pomegranate arils (seeds).
Mix together in a bowl and sprinkle a little salt and (if you dare!) 1-2 crushed, dried HOT chilli!
Poms are great for the throat, heart, and stomach, and the vit C in mandarins is a good antioxidant, and lowers cholesterol!
ENJOY!!!!
AMEN.
Adjusting to a healthier, fitter lifestyle takes TIME - and the most frustrating, disheartening aspect of it can be when friends or family aren't as supportive as you thought they would be.
I remember when I once tried to run a marathon, (never done anything like that before), and on day THREE of training, my good friend said, 'oh, you're still doing that? How long you think you'll last?' Um -
"excuse me, but I can do what I said I would do!"
1. CLAIM every single day as YOURS - YOU choose what you are going to do to make your body and mind and soul a little bit more empowered today, a little bit stronger. After all, the Bible reminds us that:
2. Be comfortable with whatever your program is - If it's going to a gym with a friend, pick a supportive gym buddy! If you prefer to work out alone, go for a run in the park, or follow one of THOUSANDS of beginner fitness videos on Youtube, right in your own room! Don't let anyone or anything hinder or intimidate you from PROGRESS!
3. DANCE - Begin and finish every workout with 1 or 2 dance tracks - whatever your flavor of the week is! Consider it a pre-pre-warm up, because whatever it is about the music that makes you love it, will be a good motivator for you!
AWWWWW YEAHHHHHHHHH.................
5 Points on Running for the Beginner
A good friend of mine is an ex-marine and used to be personal trainer to many, many, many people more fit than I. He insists that one key exercise that is invaluable - no matter if you're a beginner or a marathon lover - is running.
"There simply isn't any other substitute for it," he said, jollily.
Now I hate treadmills. And I hate gyms. But committing to change and a healthier lifestyle meant I had to at least TRY running in the open air.
This is how I envisioned myself on Day 1:
But my run had a bit more swag, like this:
1. A Start is a Start!
It doesn't matter what level you're at. It gets easier as you commit to it. I felt changes almost right away, it made me sleep better at night, (sleep earlier too!), and it also made me drink more water.

I love this little pie chart from Turbo Rachel's Fitness blog!
IS IT REALLY HUNGER I AM FEELING OR AM I:
a) BORED
b) SADZ
c) STRESSED
d) NONE OF THE ABOVE BUT I WANT TO NOMNOM MY FACE
Which brings me to another important concept, RELATIONAL EATING:
I’ve noticed that when people want to impress other people, (boyfriends/girlfriends/family/colleagues, etc), and make a sudden, drastic commitment to eat healthy and get fit -
The results are sadly usually only temporary.
And that’s because the commitment isn’t really to lead a healthier lifestyle, but a commitment to please someone else, and push comes to shove when the relationship breaks down, the family member criticizes, or the colleague makes a comment - and it’s back to microwave butter popcorn and McFlurries galore.
So how do you gain control?
COMMIT TO YOURSELF!
‘I DESERVE TO HAVE A ROCKIN’ BODY THAT IS MINE. I DESERVE TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT MYSELF. I AM RESTORING ORDER TO THE BODY GOD CRAFTED FOR ME.’
Truly accepting that declaration means you will be little deterred when a bad day comes, (and there will be bad days!). So, one more time:
‘YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE ME!!!’ :)))
As Christian women, we cannot afford to enrich our spirits, but neglect our bodies! We need to ask ourselves, 'Do I really want to wake up ten years from now and long for today?' 'Do I really want my fat rolls to have fat rolls?' 'Do I really want to microwave my dinner yet again?' No, No, NO!
See, I believe within our problems, there's often the solution. I hate gyms but love God's nature. I hate most vegetables but I love knowing my organs are doing okay. I hate grocery shopping but I love cooking new recipes. I dread the pre-workout but I love dancing.
This blog is for every girl of every age who, like me, is working at it everyday: Motivation to nom (eat!) well. Inspiration to run on. Confirmation that everyday, she is stepping more into what God has planned for her, body, mind and spirit!
This will be more fun than you think...
