Without it, he looks different.
Not less like Leo, just more like him. His eyes seem smaller without the blue fabric around them and his expression is open in a way he usually hides. He folds the mask with too much care and sets it beside his swords.
Then he catches you staring.
“What?” he asks.

Leo freezes.

“Yeah.”
The air suddenly feels warmer than it should.
Without a second thought, you turn and leap into the water.
It's cold. Extremely cold, but it only energizes you more to sink and delve further inside the blue pool. You turn your head and open your eyes, seeing Leo despite being submerged, watching the turtle briefly panic at you not immediately coming up. You decide to have some mercy on his poor shell and emerge with an exaggerated gasp.
"Leo, Leo!", you call out suddenly, making him stiffen up and step closer to the edge, clear worry on his face.

the main idea was to introduce a normal character who wants to be normal despite loving the thrill of an unstable life and wanting to be “normal” despite obvious circumstances (like getting transformed into a some knife mutant which i use mutant lightly) and somehow keep bumping into turtles who assume they’re a rogue vigilante despite wanting to keep their head down mostly
