Boss left again, and he took the dog. This meant she would have to deal with the soldiers on Mother Base. All of their snide remarks, their gawking when they thought she wasnāt looking, their insults, and the glares. Had she not proven herself an ally yet? Still, she was locked in a cage, treated like a disease. Though in fact she did have parasites, those she refused to spread. She heard the sound of someone coming down the steps, she figured it must be Ocelot, he would often come down and check on her, though the step pattern seemed a bit off. , she wasnāt expecting a personal visit from Commander Miller.
ā®ā¬. . . ||Ā Miller still refused to believe that the sniper was an ally, she tried to kill Snake. How could anyone even begin to trust her, no. She would never prove herself an ally, not to him, not after that, though, most of the things that she has done for Diamond Dogs is inexplicable. She would put herself in danger, for what? There was no way she actually cared about anythingĀ . . . He refused to believe it, instead, he took it as a way of getting close just to stab them in the back. He couldn't bring himself to trust these days, and everyone was suffering because of that, no one would be given a chance.
He stood outside her cage and glared down at her, he couldnāt stand having her here; the enemy, it disgusted him to his core, it made him sick. 'You still refuse to speak...?' he questioned, not expecting an answer. She was as her name states; quiet. 'This is bullshit...' there was no point in keeping her around, they didn't need her. ' You could leave at any given moment, so why are you still here?' he asked, knowing he wouldn't get an answer, but asked nevertheless.

āHuh?ā She tilted her head in confusion. How did this man know her name? I suppose it was possible that people could research information on her, but something was odd in the way he spoke it, it was almost as though he knew her. āHow do you know my name?ā His voice held familiarity to it, and yet she wasnāt sure if she could be trusted with her own thoughts. She was honestly baffled, she was only an ornithologist, and studying birds had always been a passion of hers. She never did anything illegal or too risky, yet she somehow ended up in dangerous situations.
āCan I thank the man who rescued me?ā She started to get up from the bed though the medics urged against it. āI would like him to have my gratitude before I left.ā A part of her was curious of the man truly was Snake.
ā®ā¬. . . ||Ā 'Cecile, please...' he hobbled over to the bed, ' you need rest.' he reminded her, ' in fact, we're not sure if you can walk yet.' he added with a sad tone. Ā She really didn't know who he was... He wondered how he looked through her eyes. . . He was a broken man. . . there was nothing left from his past self, from the man nine years ago. She looked like she hadn't aged a single day. . . seeing her, it brought back so many happy memories, but along with those memories came more rage, those memories were taken from him, and those he called family, all because of Emmerich.Ā
'You want to thank the boss? maybe later, he's out right now...' he looked to the medic and nodded as if it were a sign he would take care of things from here. As the medic exited the room he took a seat in a spare chair in the room. 'We need to talk,' Ā his tone became very serious, he needed to explain everything to her. Starting with who he was.
snake:
He hated it. He hated the look that came onto Kazās face every time he was reminded of the pain. He wished more than anything that he could give it all back, bring back the ones they lost, and take all the pain away. Ā What more could they do to suffice this thirst? Snake knew in his heart that there was no way to end this grief, so he held on to what little hope there was and let the demon arise to the surface. He let Kaz keep the hope that he had, the hope that once Zero was gone, everything would be solved.
āI know what youāre thinking.ā He narrowed his eye at the expression on Millerās face. āThe children. What happen isnāt your fault.ā He breathed in deeply and exhaled soon after, āIāll do what I have to do.ā Yes. Let the demon release itself. He was already in hell, there was no point in trying to salvage what little sanity he had left. He never even told Kaz about the hallucinations he had, along with hisghosts. He was a b r o k e n shell of his former self, and he just couldnāt let go of the past.
āThey arenāt just children.ā His eyes held a different story, not as mournful as the Commandersā No. He was prepared for the worst. āTheyāre soldiers, their innocence was taken long ago, and we have no way of getting that back for them. There are things you can never change.ā He closed his eyes, letting his own words sink into his brain. āThis was never your fault. They were doomed when the gun was placed in their arms.ā It was tragic to think of what he would have to do, but Kaz was right.Thereās not room for angels in their heaven.
ā®ā¬. . . ||Ā 'I was careless, Snake. . .' he took responsibility for to the children, had he let Ocelot deal with Eli perhaps, they could have been around, but the though of Ocelot torturing a child. . . it just wasn't right. He knew how Ocelot obtained information from suspects or prisoners, and there was no way in hell he would have let Ocelot torture a child. Not a child-- his train of though broke as he heard the words;Ā "They're soldiers.ā
Snake was right, they were no longer innocent children, but Miller still wanted to believe they could have helped those children, changed their fates. . . gave them a chance at life, without all of the pain and suffering. DOOMED--Ā Snake was right again, he hated hearing this but he needed to. He couldn't think of them as children on the battlefield, they werenāt children, they were soldiers.Ā
'I know, Snake,' he didn't want to talk about it, it was written all over his face. 'Perhaps there is another way, maybe they don't have to die...' He tried to be hopeful for the sake of those children, even after everything he had witnessed, after all of the hardships he has gone through, he found it in himself to be hopeful for the children, 'We could try and save them.'

The door to the prison creaked open causing her to cringe from the awful screech. It was dark and wet, she heard the footsteps of the guards as they approached her. She had been to tired for information she did not possess, and yet she was still in one piece, but her body was bruised and battered and her legs would no longer move, she hoped that they were not broken, but such thinking was naive.Ā
Ā The guard leaned over and grabbed her arm pulling her to her feet and turned her face to get a better look. She saw a sinister grimace spread a crossed his mouth as he pressed her against the cold cave walls and started to remove her pants roughly, āNo, pleaseā¦Ā !ā She tried to fight him with what little strength she had, resulting in a back hand swatting her hard in the face. She yelped in pain as he continued to remove her clothes. Tears began to stream down her face, she felt so weak. She wished that he would end her life instead of thisĀ torture, thisĀ humiliation.Ā Pleaseā¦
Ā Everything went blank after her head it the ground. Her eyes were blurry as she felt herself being lifted from the ground.Ā Am I flying?Ā She could barely make out her surroundings and winced when she was finally out of the dark, the sun hurt after so long, but the feeling of the warm rays on her skin is something she would not trade. Her body was placed on the ground, and she heard him, his voice, the words would not exit her throat and she was soon put on a chopper. He didnāt recognize her and she couldnāt speak.
Ā She passed out on the chopper, and when she opened her eyes she was in a medical bed, being treated by people she had never seen. She could barely move and she couldāve swore she was dreaming. āSnakeā¦ā She whispered loud enough for the medic in the room to hear, who rushed out of the room to report to the āCommanderā. She slowly sat up and glanced around the room, her legs still felt paralyzed. She began to feel fear of never walking again. Her attention was brought to the door as a well dressed military man walked in with a crutch, his right sleeve hung limp and moved slightly by the wind of the door. Did she move from one prison to another? āWhat do you want with me?ā
ā®ā¬. . . ||Ā As soon as a prisoner arrives on mother base Miller makes sure that the medic takes a look at them, just to be safe, especially after the incident with the vocal cord parasites, he couldnāt afford be to careless any prisoner. Miller had given the order to the medic, āas soon when the woman woke up he needed to be informed at onceā, he hadn't seen the woman not yet--Ā Had this been Miller from nine or ten years ago he would have made sure he got a good look at her, but now, everything was different, he didnāt care much for woman, he was being consumed by his lust for revenge, but since she had been held captive by the enemy she must have known of their plans. . . and her information would help lead them to Cipher, to Zero, which meant he needed to speak with her.
He entered the room, he wore a rough expression, he had no intentions of torturing for information--Ā no, just questioning, perhaps she wouldn't make his job harder. Nevertheless, he had prepared himself for the worst , most rescued prisoners were difficult when first arriving on Mother Base. 'Are you hungry--'Ā As he laid eyes on her his facial expression softened, he knew her, and the accent made it even more obvious that this was indeed the woman he knew 9 years ago. Cecile Cosima Caminades. 'C-cecile. . .?' his eyes widened. 9 years ago, of course she wouldn't recognize him, war had changed him. He had been through so much suffering, everyone had. Not only had he changed mentally but also physically, he didn't blame her for not recognizing him.Ā
How would he explain everything to her, how Emmerich betrayed them, and lied, everything he said was a lie. how would he explain how Strangelove. . . no, he couldn't even bring himself to think of her, he felt his chest tighten just from the thought of it, and what added to his rage was the fact that the bastard was still alive. . .Strangelove, all of their men, their family, nine years ago, it was all Emmerich . . . Traitorous bastard. This was truly a bittersweet moment.
