For Poseidon: He is the marine. He is not just the ocean, but its currents, the rivers and bodies of water that connect to the ocean, the ocean’s beaches it touches, the animals and plants it carries. The boats and vessels it houses. The rain born from ocean waters, the smell of salt even.

For Aphrodite: Love is not just romantic. It is familial, it is platonic, it is love for the stranger on the street with a beautiful haircut. It is love for your neighbors who you like to say hi too when they’re mowing their lawn. Love is when you find siblings within your own friend groups. Love is what you harbor for your pets and personal items.

It is my belief that giving epithets is a key language of worship in the modern world [giving epithets is my love language]

White yarn was exclusively used in healing rituals. After a bundle of necessary items for the sick person was prepared, witches wrapped it three times with white yarn, then it was tied with three knots while they chanted an appropriate incantation. Repeating the incantation while tying each knot. The bundle consisted of a piece of white canvas, a personal effect of the sick person, or a few hairs, or an herb was used to treat the sickness at hand. Sometimes just a lock of hair was bound with white yarn, and while the knots were tied, the incantation was repeated.

Red yarn was used for everyday situations. It was most used in love magic first for "binding" a couple, then for material benefits, but also for protection from any evil. The method of performing the ritual is identical to the previous one , meaning that while the knots were being tied, the appropriate incantation was repeated for each knot.

Black yarn was used exclusively for black magic, with the methodology as in the previous examples. It is well known that black yarn is used in Vlach "binding", and according to that, we can conclude that this type of love magic is black magic.

In honor of the Circe Saga coming out soon, I thought I would do a recap on who the new characters are, both in Epic, and in their original mythological context

First up, who is Hermes?

Hermes is the Greek god of messengers, travelers, thieves, and also helps out to guide souls in the underworld (along with much more)! The son of Zeus and the nymph Maia, Hermes is famous for as an infant, stealing the cattle of Apollo. Also he is sometimes credited with the invention of the lyre (which Apollo later becomes known for playing) In the Trojan was Hermes was on the side of the Greeks.

Later in the Odyssey he is the one to inform Odysseus of the fate his men met at the hands of Circe. He is also the one to give Odysseus Moly, the herb, and instructs him on how he might overpower and trick Circe. Later he was the messenger who instructs Calypso to release Odysseus.

Similarly in Epic the Musical, Hermes does not tell Odysseus of his companions fate, but he still does tell him about Moly, and how that can be used to stop Circe. This is in the second song of the Circe saga, Wouldn’t You like. Later, in the Vengeance Saga, he will return to tell Odysseus how he might get home, away from Calypso’s island of Ogygia, in the song Dangerous.

The world is oftentimes such an ugly place, but sometimes it can be so beautiful.

Like, when two choirs, one from Croatia and the other from Zimbabwe, met on the opposite sides of a Lisbon subway station and both sang to each other.

I unfortunately do not know what the Zimbabwe children choir sang to them (although it was so beautiful), but the Croatian klapa Kastav sang 'Kuća puna naroda' (a house full of people).
