Dante arrived with two hefty bags of snacks, not entirely sure they would get through them all but more was always better than less. Plus it was very apparent to him now, he liked Zelda, and spoiling her via snacks was just one of the ways he’d drop a hint, until he drummed up the courage to actually tell her. He knocked at her door in a special way he would usually do and smiled a dog’s grin when he was welcomed inside her place.

ZELDA: get three cups of coffee! i can’t let slenderman get you. what am i gonna do without you??? ZELDA: i don’t know. a normal zoo? i spent a lot of time building a proper habitat for the animals so they could have a lot of space ZELDA: i will add it to my list! ZELDA: or u could come over and watch it with me!

DANTE: i would be so wired on three cups i could probably fight slenderman

DANTE: 😳

DANTE: thats actually a good idea

DANTE: i think i can get away? give me about an hour or less 

ZELDA: don’t you feel someone is standing behind you? ZELDA: i was streaming cs:go and then some planet zoo. adding some variety ZELDA: and no i havent! should i watch it?

DANTE: >_> yea and it’s the worst. im gonna get a cup of coffee. i need to stay alert just in case slender man or some other cryptid shows up

DANTE: ooo look at you, versatile. what kinda of zoo were you running?

DANTE: yah, you def should. it’s sci fi so its perfect for nerds like us. each episode is different

ZELDA: i think that you’re about to get spoojed by a ghost ZELDA: just a feeling though ZELDA: and i just finished a stream ZELDA: so i’m eating a snack and browsing netflix

DANTE: lol i hate you

DANTE: if i was alone i would be looking over my shoulder every 5 seconds

DANTE: what’d you stream tonight?

DANTE: it’s my first time in the building after dark too

DANTE: kind feels weird even though im here almost everyday

DANTE: does this count as a liminal space? i think so

DANTE: anyway, what ya doing?

“You know...” Chloe said, mouth full, “I never thought sweet corn would taste so good. Or that I would miss it this much...” Currently, she was stocking up on as many canned foods as possible. Their group was looting a grocery store that remained largely untouched. They would have to keep moving soon, but the nostalgia and comfort of “shopping” in a store again managed to lift everyone’s spirits and sooth the hunger in their bellies. Chloe for one, could not wait. She shucked open a can of corn while still grabbing essentials and chowed down. “Yo look...” Chloe pulled a can of Del Monte Peaches from the shelf with a smile. “These are amazing.” She handed a can to Adi. “So what’s your haul? Anything good?”

“Oh that white bag of death?” She looked up at him. “Yes I did.” At first she wasn't sure what it was, covered in a festive colorful set of smiling icons she assumed it was candy until further inspection. Tenten always knew Lee used, most of their friends did. And his addiction did not make him any less of the person they knew before, she was always going to love him no matter what. But the bag of cocaine made her stomach turn. In a move of shock, sadness and pain, Tenten flushed the cocaine down the toilet. Of course, she knew Lee would be able to replace what he lost within a few hours and it wouldn't of made a difference in the long run, but Tenten didn't care.

first it began with scientists and experiments, as it always does. people were being microchipped, food was being microchipped. the first set of people to be tested on turned rabid and angry. the chip they ingested absorbed into the brain and the scientists had no way to remove it. a bioengineered  plague, one processed from technology, a mutation, who would of thought? from there, it spread and the mainstream media’s cover of it did not express the seriousness. people continued about their everyday lives not knowing the threat loomed over their heads like a dark, thunderous cloud. it wasn't until your next door neighbor was slack jawed and screaming at your back door, until your best friend chased you with a speed that was not human, grabbed you and devoured you. then and only then, did the world know they were in trouble. before the news became obsolete they issued a warning of martial law.
