These people saw a listing for a huge seaside fort and decided to raise funds for a place where the party never ends. They need 150,000 people to donate $10 to make this happen. In exchange each donor will get life membership. Prospective donors have been asking some brilliantly obvious questions. 

There's nothing like that "too cool for school" attitude. You have nothing to be ashamed of, man. You want a Playstation4. Others should pay for it. Or not -- you're zen. But at the same time you are still asking, aren't you?

I am such a big fan of entrepreneurs, really, but if you have thousands of dollars in medical debt, maybe, just maybe, you should take care of it before starting a risky enterprise like a coffee shop? 

"We put this page together with the intentions of trying to raise money towards our traveling expenses, and to also bring forth a great way to start traveling the world through acts of kindness and paying it forward. Everyone deserves a chance to explore and with kind people and websites like this, it can happen." I've never heard of an airline that accepts acts of kindness, or paying it forward. You're asking for a handout and promising to give one to someone else. I have to ask myself if you actually believe what you are saying because you are naive, or if you were on some mood-enhancing, logic-destroying, drugs.

I don't even know where to start with this guy. He hates living in plastic fantastic Santa Cruz and wants to intern at a biodynamic farm in Costa Rica for three months. Sounds admirable, dude, but what about you makes you so special that others should fund your path to self-realization? Also, bragging on Wi-Fi and a pool? It's in poor taste.

They are in lurrrrrv and so cute, y'all. AND they went to Bonnaroo. Don't you want to keep them together? Fork over the 2K. Warning: This one might make you hate Youths.

She wants to have the best night of her life, and that includes a few hundred for JT merchandise. I don't understand the math of this request, but it's all about the dream anyway. 

Yes, there actually is a "bro" level of donor.

Hey, she deserves this trip. She passed all her classes.

This Kickstarter raised $50,000 based on an offhand request for a few dollars to make potato salad. From there, I think people got the idea that all bets were off in terms of what was appropriate to request from perfect strangers. It looks like some of the most entitled/clueless GoFundMes appeared after that point. And boy, after looking through pages and pages of legitimate GoFundMes that go unfunded, the success of that Kickstarter leaves a bad taste in my mouth. (Yes, of course it's their money to do what they want to with and Amurricah and Internet liberatarian and Tumblr badass and Ayn Rand and Rand Paul and all that. But that doesn't stop it from reeking a little bit.)

We all know we need to prepare for the zombie apocalypse. This man wants us to fund his efforts, and why not? Currency will be useless soon enough. Added points for planning for his sugar glider. Points off, though, for not providing details of his ZA plan -- what supplies is he buying, exactly? (Or is he not providing them because he's protecting his resources for when the undead show up and he doesn't want us to know what he has?)

This young bride-to-be has her priorities straight. She wants a huge wedding, paid for by others. After all, the groom-to-be is a badass and was supportive to her when she found out she had diabetes. That merits at LEAST $20K, right? I was going to put a snarky title for this post, but she did it for me.

These women are always broke. One of them has a baby, and the other has a boyfriend. Their special circumstances require special sacrifice from us to help make their dream come true. 

This young couple want to live a life rarely lived -- one completely funded by others where you do exactly what you want. After all, they have worked hard their whole lives. They feel more than us, y'all. Let's let them experience the world on our dime. They'll share what they've found in the form of artistic photography. It's hard to shake the idea that this is some sort of performance art or social science experiment. If so, I salute its brilliance.

This woman would really appreciate you paying off her $3,000 in credit card debt so she can start law school with one fewer thing to worry about. Isn't her peace of mind worth a few thousand?
