The more obvious reason I’ve decided to leave the fandom and the main reason my interest fizzled was the fact that I am an adult. Being in a fandom where the characters are teens and the fandom is full of teens made me feel gross. Obviously, I was responsible/mature, (as much as an 18/19 year old at the time can be), and I clearly wasn’t a creep, but having most of my friends/mutuals be underage felt… ewe.

Additionally, during my time in the fandom, my art plummeted in quality and I’ve since then had to recover and re-discover my style. Obviously this has nothing to do with the fandom, just me. In the beginning, I wanted to adapt a more cartoonish style while drawing eltingville content, but when that’s ALL you draw, it’s not long before you forget your old ways. I’m sure you’ll notice that this piece is very different than what I’d usually post for Eltingville content lol.

My time in the Eltingville fandom truly was one of the best. I felt so welcome and motivated as a yumeshipper and an artist. Seeing all the time, effort, and love you all put into your characters as well as the canon ones was so refreshing. Despite the controversies and immaturities amongst some fans, I don’t regret a second.
