I’ve been incredibly busy these past few months, but I’m finally getting around to finishing Mishap chp. 12! Not only that, I’ve written a silvermantis one-shot! That should also be posted soon! I’ll try to be more consistent with updates, but I make no promises rn! Anyway, since it’s been months, here’s a little sneak peek of chp. 12 featuring Papa Silva ;)

Naël snapped back into the present, taking a sip from his tea. It had long gone cold, but he could hardly find it in himself to care. His mind was occupied by other, far more pressing matters.

Jack The Ripper.

He had heard the name before. How could he not? After all, he was one of the three Magic Knight Captains with no royal or noble blood (along with the foreigner and the witch). It had caused quite an uproar among his peers back when they had been elected as captains of their respective brigades. Too much of an uproar, as it had reached even Naël’s ears in seclusion. It was hard to forget.

Therefore, Naël had recognized the name in bold ink when his brother-in-law had sent a letter in frenzied words. Three months prior, Lucian had informed him of Jack’s impromptu elopement to his eldest son. (And his opposition to the union). It had certainly been unexpected. After all, the image he had created of his son did not match the Nozel of the news—at all. Granted, that image had been forged with the far-away memories of the times when he had acted as a proper father. Not only that, but all the current knowledge he had of his primogeniture came from hearsay—and Lucian and Gladiola’s letters.

Now, it was safe to assume the image he had constructed of Nozel was flawed. His ego took the blow wholeheartedly. It was bad enough that he had been mistaken about his youngest (Noelle turned out to be as strong as Acier, if the reports were anything to go by), but apparently he had also been oblivious to Nozel’s changes.

(Seclusion had its downside, he would admit. Regardless, he preferred living in ignorance than to see Acier every time he stepped outside, every time he saw their children.)

Nevertheless, back then, although the news came unexpectedly, he couldn’t find it in himself to care much. A great contrast to Lucian’s own melodramatic reaction. The man had been livid, begging Naël to interfere through extensive letters. He couldn’t tolerate a common man marrying into the family, and hoped Naël would see things from his perspective. However, Nozel was the Head of House Silva, and Naël would not question his authority.

Lucian’s letters remained unanswered.

If you work, what’s your profession and do you like it? I work for a small jewelry company and yeah I like it more than any other job I’ve had before :)

The first time I signed up for tumblr back in 2014, I just chose a randomly generated username since I didn't mind too much. But I lost that account ~2019 and since I didn't chose the username, I actually didn't remember it so I couldn't even search for any info about my old blog. So back in 2021 (after covid ruined my already shitty sleep schedule) when I made this account, I knew I wanted a name so that way I wouldn't forget it. It was late and I just remember thinking to myself something like "I can't even think of a good username, I feel like I've been awake for 48 hours... wait." It was mostly just a joke name and one I was fully intending to change I also never intended to make more than like 3 posts but at this point, don't fix what ain't broke.

If you work, what’s your profession and do you like it? [Redacted]

Origin of your blog’s name: For people who know me I think it won’t be that surprising that I get really, really fucked up about games like Catan, to the point where I actually don’t have much fun with them. My specific sticking point is that I HATE being betrayed by people I’ve formed an “alliance” with.

There’s this game called Bohnanza that I play with my family a lot, where the entire premise is that you’re farming and selling beans. And one time my mom double-crossed me in a way that really pissed me off, so I torched any idea of winning and basically spent the rest of the game pouring every resource I had into making sure that SHE wouldn’t win (yes this is a toxic trait, yes im working on it) and she burst out in frustration like “can you STOP acting like a mafia boss [name] FOR THE LOVE OF GOD”

So. I am the bean market mafia, actually.

Origin of your blog’s name: for the longest time i’ve had usernames with “nova” on them and specific numbers. One day I thought “huh, just nova1523 (nova, 1521, nova1218, etc) sounds boring, i want more” so I went to look for inspiration and I eventually settled on nodanova!

“You’re insufferable.” Nozel said, matching Jack’s playful smile.

“What? Because I learned your stupid royal dance?”

“Idiot, you were pretending to be bad—awful, and stepped on my feet countless times.”

Jack laughed, catching the attention of the nearby dancing couples. “I only started pretending around…the third lesson.”

Nozel’s eyes widened, and he held himself back from kicking Jack again. “Third? Jack. We had a dozen lessons. Were you seriously wasting my time?”

“Yeah,” Jack admitted, leaning down, breath brushing warmly against Nozel’s neck, as he whispered. “It was the perfect excuse to bother you, and watch you squirm. It was very entertaining.”

Nozel swallowed, meeting Jack’s sharp eyes. “Sadist.”

Jack chuckled. “I think you love it.”
