In Hogsmeade, McGonagall holding classes and advisory sessions related to becoming an animagus that may be attended by any wix who is of age. She can offer both of these free of charge to trans and nonbinary wixen thanks to the financial backing of a magical nonprofit serving those wixen founded by Luna Lovegood’s mother, who was nonbinary herself.

In her special transfiguration classes, McGonagall singles out older students from each house who have become very skilled at these spells. She sits down with them and asks if they would be willing to assist students who, for whatever reason, are unable to perform the spells themselves. (Unfortunately, permanent spells require years of study and practice to perform. The spells McGonagall teaches last days or weeks.) Every house then has at least one person you can go to for the spell(s) you need. McGonagall’s door remains open in case that person isn’t available.

McGonagall making sure every student gets to present exactly how they want at the Yule Ball. McGonagall being overjoyed when one of her Ravenclaw students, looking very dapper in his dress robes, approaches and asks her to dance. After the music stops the small aroace trans boy laughs, and hugs her, and returns to the waiting group of friends he came to the ball with. It will always be McGonagall’s fondest memory of that night.

For decades and right up until the day she retires, McGonagall receives letters from former students thanking her for everything she did to help them when they were at Hogwarts, saying she is still their role model, inspiration, and hero. McGonagall keeping every one of these letters in a drawer in her desk (which requires an undetectable extension charm after a while). She pulls them out and reads a few whenever she is doubting herself or the decisions she has made as a teacher/Head of House/Deputy Headmistress/Headmistress.

McGonagall coming back to Hogwarts and Hogsmeade even after she retires to teach the animagus and special transfiguration classes.

Entle

I made this word up a few years ago when I gained need for it. 

Both aunt and uncle are words that begin with a vowel sound, end with a consonant sound, and have only an N in between. 

This is lucky, because it means I can use that to my advantage in constructing a new word. I used a new vowel, a neutral sounding one. Then I added both consonants to keep the word firmly rooted to the others, so it’s meaning can feel more intuitive.

I’ve been making great use of it, my brother’s 3yo has been calling me “Entle Tenri” for a couple years now. It really does work very well for being the word I made it to be. 

While it doesn’t really go with the trend that you were pointing out, “entle” sounds quite a bit like “lentil”, which is not something I feel like being called.

As for a word for niece or nephew, the word seems to be “nibling”.

I like entle best because it’s sound and format match the existing words for that relationship. That’s what I mean when I say I want a word like it but for niece/nephew. The only things I can think of look much less elegant than entle.
