Comic based on a fic I’m posting, A Taste of Your Own Medicine. It's a comedy! (well, there's some eventual drama so a dramedy, I guess? I mean, how else do you keep things interesting?)

Things have been way too busy lately. This panel was supposed to be part of another comic from the fic but it and a few others have been sitting around abandoned for a couple months now, so maybe having it stare at me here will motivate me to eventually finish it.

It’s been a bit frustrating though (I have a newfound sympathy to anyone facing writers block). I’ve had new ideas, and like, there’s at least 10-15 others in my ‘ideas’ doc, including a fully completed outline that’s been begging to be written since… September??  (and another ~85% completed fic that I haven't been able to write the ending for for almost a year now). I was beginning to think maybe my Link Click hyper-fixation was starting to wane, even though the art and current stories still have me pretty invested. 

Turns out, it’s not that, because today I’m sitting here trying to write this additional happy scene for one of my stories, having the same issues, when into my head pops this new idea for a scene that could relate to it that I could write. So I give it a try, and I do. In one sitting, in a matter of an hour or two, it’s completely done. But it’s not the happy scene I set out to finish - the one I need to write, the most important one. No, this is the made-myself-ugly-cry-again angst scene that the fic arguably didn’t need.

So yea, I guess that's the answer. Angst. It’s what fuels me. I thought I was a changed person with this new comedy fic but turns out, nope.

Y’all… pray for LG and CXS in my stories, because they're so fucked… (but I guess that's the case in canon, too, so...)

I have this headcanon that when they were growing up, Qiao Ling would make Cheng Xiaoshi do things like dress up and paint his nails with her. Cheng Xiaoshi would whine and protest, but deep down, I think we all know he enjoyed it at least a little.

I read @degenerateshinji 's magical girl AU fic and felt compelled to draw something (thanks for this inspiration, I’ve been stuck for a minute). I think this is the fastest I’ve ever cranked something more complex out (that being said, still super inefficient – like I noticed all these time-lapse videos and realized only then that procreate is automatically recording and watched it and idk how y'all get such good results with so few ‘draft phases’??? (but ig it wasn’t as bad as I expected))

I was neutral on Lu Guang in a dress before but this outfit is so fucking cute, and it was very fun to draw (and I get it now, guys, I get it, you've converted me.) (And great character designs, Tay - both outfits are so cute)

If you haven’t read the fic, go do that (I read it in one sitting and unlike many of you, I’m not a fast reader ). It’s super interesting and well done and…. Well, you know, canon typical angst 😭. Also, I read your little answer thing about how you initially planned to end this fic and why am I more devastated now with the actual ending??? 😭😭😭
