Carlisle grew up in the centre of the action throughout his entire life, as his father worked for the Diamonds since he was a very young boy and he was always told that someday, he would take his father’s place. It was what he had been talking about ever since Carlisle was old enough to understand what Wonderland was all about and he prided himself in the fact that his father had such faith in him, that he knew that he could do it no matter what. It was because of that that Carlisle never once doubted himself once he started getting into the business and training to be not a drug dealer or a repoman, but an all-rounder. His father and Mr. Diamond taught him all of the tricks of the trade, mainly because Mr. Diamond wanted Carlisle to either marry one of his daughters and become the Boss one day, or become the Underboss to whoever did end up marrying Vivianne. 

But instead of courting her as he had planned, he found that he simply could not see her in that light and over the years, they instead became the best of friends and he was totally and completely there for her when she lost her sister, Rebecca, when she pined over Marcus and when she dealt with the confusion that came with her feelings for Edward when she still felt for Marcus. It was in his nature to comfort and support her, and it brought them to be even closer friends than they were before, not to mention that when she married Edward, he gained the job that he had always been ‘destined’ for, now serving as the Underboss to Edward and making all the tough decisions that he couldn’t quite deal with. But that was their little secret, something that not even Vivianne knew about. If it got out that Edward was afraid to make the tough choices, then their business was doomed.

Carlisle was a fairly cocky man with a lot of confidence, and he felt it safe to blame that on his father for always supporting him and telling him that he could do anything if he wanted it enough. But sadly, he has not received any of those comments for more than ten years, as his father had killed in a transaction gone wrong. He blamed himself for it, as he had been the one with him at the time. If he had been more careful, he would have noticed the concealed gun under the man’s jacket, he wouldn’t have been knocked out and he wouldn’t have woken to find his father dead. But he had always been a troublemaker as well as being reckless and always searching for danger. It gave him a high that not even drugs could deliver. It made him willing to do anything, and that was why so many feared him and respected him. But sometimes, he took it too far and no one was sure how many more times he could get out of a sticky situation unharmed.
